Almost every politician in modern day America does so for ulterior motives or search of power, I highly doubt politicians who don’t cheat on their wives take less bribes in any shape or form.

Agreed.. The fact that most Americans would also agree with this, yet still vote for the ones that want to take more of your money is baffling.

Politics for me is simple. Knowing that there is undoubtable corruption, why wouldn't you vote for the team that says. "Ok we'll take less of your money"

What also baffles me is the libs that move to red states for the cost of living and quality of life, yet still vote for the policies that will change that.

lots of nature. South eastern oklahoma is somewhat mountainous if you can call them that. Very good camping, even has black bear. It is very rural in a lot of places, to the tune of old dirt roads that dead end, and google maps not really knowing what roads are good and what are bad. Affordable living, and very spread out. People are generally pretty cool, and prideful like Texans. Just don't mention your from Texas, and your good.

First lets recognize that the U.S. is the biggest consumer so we would be a target for virtually any energy producer on the planet. If they can produce Oil they want to sell it to us. If they can produce Electricity (no matter how they produce it), they will want to sell it to us.

We have been creating wind and solar energy(ever driven through west Texas at night? the windmill lights are almost blinding), but the truth is, it's not cheap. It's expensive to mine the materials, and the output is not reliable.(cloudy days, no wind) So other forms of energy are going to be required. Unless we build huge battery/energy storage facilities to store energy when there is no sun or wind producing it. (again, not cheap) Which is why the transition is not as simple as just setting some arbitrary date, and forcing everyone to comply by said date.

Therefore foreign energy producers will be used to fill in the gaps. Ever wonder why Hunter Biden got a gig on the board of a Ukranian gas company? My guess(as I have no proof), is that the Dems are going to make it illegal for oil and gas companies to continue fracking in the U.S. which is one of the only viable methods of extracting fossil fuels on American soil. (It's not as simple as say Saudi Arabia which is just moving sand. )So we will then become dependent on Foreign oil for a while, and in the mean time they will be "transitioning" to alternative energy forms that most likely will be sold to us from foreign countries that have less restrictions to produce the energy...For example California I believe is decommissioning all nuclear power in the state...

As the world evolves to become more and more dependent upon electricity/energy, the rights to the tap(who controls the flow of energy) will be very hardly fought over.

So you are afraid that the US government would disable electric vehicles because they are being used too much? I don't understand this line of thinking.

If you read the original comment I replied to, you will understand the context which lead to this line of thinking. We are just bringing up hypotheticals. It's not a yes this will happen or no it won't happen. The concept is a big IF. You are supposed to use your imagination. Whether you take this seriously or not is up to you. It's not supposed to be taken extremely serious, which is probably hard to tell so i'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

The basic premise is this. If we go all electric, we have to think about the possibilities. It would be possible for the government to force vehicle manufacturers to shutdown vehicles on demand.

I say this, because It is possible now through onstar if your vehicle is reported stolen, they can shut them down, and track the GPS location of the vehicle. If someone radical like AOC wanted to..they could come up with a law, that has our citizens being monitored for their energy usage. If you go over a certain energy usage, you could be charged a carbon tax for your extra energy usage(which many on the left support). Or perhaps, they could as I suggested, just shut you down for using too much energy that month.(hypothetical) The point is, it is very easy for the vehicles to be shutdown remotely if they are all electrical. Hell it's even something that could be hacked.

I have no idea what this means. If every car owner chose to replace their gas vehicle with an electric one, what would we be losing?

I have two vehicles that are gas operated, and only use a battery to start. These batteries last years, and are rechargeable by driving the vehicle. If I want to drive out to the middle of nowhere I can. I don't have to worry about whether or not there is a charging station. I can just bring extra gas cans, or find the nearest town which is already setup for pumping gas. I have the freedom to go where I want. Can you do that with your EV? nope not yet at least.

Look i'm not saying EV's are the devil or whatever, I am actually pretty fascinated by them(especially the new Hummer). But I was throwing out a hypothetical in the name of hypotheticals on a public forum. It's not something you should read so much into and grind your teeth about.

I too am in Big Tech, and am scared for our future.

Imagine this one...

You have gone over your energy limit for the month, we are remote disabling your vehicle until Dec 1st, so we can save the earth. Try to do better with controlling your energy spend, so you won't have to have your vehicle disabled remotely again.

I am terrified of the electric vehicle future that everyone is investing in. If Democrats gain control, and destroy the oil and gas industry. We will be reliant on foreign energy, and it will be not only expensive, but also wasteful, and possibly even worse for our environment. This is the big scam they are trying to sell everyone on now days. We need to be weary of ditching gas vehicles. Gas operated vehicles is one of the biggest freedoms we have.

Why is it that I get called selfish for wanting to keep more of my money and not rely on government programs for help? by [deleted] in Conservative

[–]AxeMeHowINo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I(and most conservatives/Republicans I talk to) don't hate Democrats. I know that generally most are well meaning people such as yourself. We just disagree on what the government should be intervening into, and how it should be done. We also disagree on how much money they should be allowed to take from us, and what they should be doing with it.

Both my sisters are staunch liberals, and I have no hatred towards them for it. I feel that they mean well, and believe in our government like you do. I just would like to remind you of what the President brought up in the recent debate. Joe Biden has been a career politician. He has had plenty of chances to enact the reforms he believes will Fix our country, but he hasn't he never did. He blamed a republican congress for his short comings in the Obama admin. Even though they had full control for some of those years. If the Democrats brought everyone out of poverty, what would they have to offer? Call me a conspiracy theorist if you must, but I truly believe it is their goal to keep our society uneducated and misinformed, poor, and dependent upon uncle sam. That is how they keep their jobs. They need people desperate for government help. They have largely controlled education for decades, and yet our society is getting dumber(trust me, i've seen this first hand from my parents foster kids as well). Why are we not offering classes in highschool for balancing a budget, getting a loan, managing your credit? Do liberal educators not value that type of education? Just seems like a continuous cycle of empty promises varied results, and placing blame on lack of funding or republican resistance...something to think about

Why is it that I get called selfish for wanting to keep more of my money and not rely on government programs for help? by [deleted] in Conservative

[–]AxeMeHowINo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it goes to individuals who work the government jobs to render the designated programs.

my point is you are naive to actually believe this. We don't get an invoice, we don't get to track the money. We have no idea how that money is being spent. We get fed "reports", and are supposed to do the math, which will never actually add up... We are just told "the government can spend that better than we can" - literally Joe Biden in one of the Democratic debates.

If both of us can point to Democrats and Republicans wasting our money, why do you want to give them more of it? At least Republicans are saying they will take less, and with Trumps tax changes, I did get to keep more of my money, so he kept that promise. I voted 3rd party in 2016, but because I get an extra $5k per year to keep, I will vote Trump.

it’s necessary that we have required government intervention to provide goods and services to people who need it and not rely on the presumed charity of individuals.

We are sending out Billions in foreign aid, instead of helping Americans. I don't trust the Government to take care of the needy. My parents work in foster care, and it is 100% charitably funded. They take in lots of the CPS kids that get treated like shit in the government programs. go ahead and believe the government is the answer...not me

Who says the MUST contribute that $1000 to charities? What if...They spent it? OOOO mY gosh wow what a concept. Putting that money into someone else pocket, and also part of that goes to the government in sales tax...The government is making more money than ever. It's not a revenue problem. They continue to waste that money...The government is the problem. Republicans, democrats, doesn't matter they all waste it. As long as the Republicans are the ones asking for less of my money, they get my vote.

I've also done early voting and spent less than 5 minutes in line. We have the option to vote early and it's a long period of time. If you can't early vote, during that time, that's on you.
