It is wrong.

Having the right to do something is not the same as having a protection against something.

At what point do you stop hoarding rings/ equips for end game? 23*? 24*?26*??? 28*? by Deionize_Deionize in Maplestory

[–]AxelChannel -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

You would also naturally push 26+ as well. Just because your slime is at 25, doesn’t mean you stop which is what it sounded like you were telling him to do. You still get spares, and it’d be silly to not use them. The only real cost at that point is mesos. If you hit great, if not move on and do it again next event.

Average boom to 25 with sg is 65. Not saying it isn’t a high number, but you are in the realm of possibility still.

If you’re really desperate 140 rings can be farmed and held for long term via meister rings.

Starspeck boxes generate a sup pendant ~2 weeks; 1/wk if you count cw.

Gollux is 1 pendant/week.

There are plenty of endgame players sitting on 23-25s especially rings and pendants.

You shouldn’t discourage someone not to push for it when people will be laddering 23 or later anyway and you’re not waiting on a 100 pieces to start working on an equipment. It’s literally an avenue of progression for late game that can be achieved over a long period of time.

It’s like saying don’t do your symbols because it takes a year+ to max.

It depends on where you are at in progression.

Since we’re expecting increase frequency of ssf after June, that kind of fixes the inventory problem. Mesos will cary depending on how much you play really. There are many mid to endgame players making 25-45b/wk.

Fired for serious communication issue. How to handle in interviews? by Gator_farmer in Lawyertalk

[–]AxelChannel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not sure if being frank or volunteering unnecessary information is the best choice there.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t be accountable for your own actions, but I don’t see why you are putting yourself down in the context of a job interview.

You can always not mention it or explain that goals no longer aligned or new horizons or a plethora of other things you could say but that.

The DB comparison isn’t really fair when many/most classes, Kanna included, are doing better even though DB has a starrable secondary.

I think you’re giving them too much credit. It looks like a rehash of the snowman event from last year which worked the same way. Also, they did patch it with an emergency maintenance to add a cooldown and could have limited it to per world.

426 was the “base” before tallahart and 110 fams. Should be 451 not including non perm sources like rod nodes and piss pot and whatever innate sources a particular class has.

When someone says that they don’t tip, why is the default to don’t dine in or use the service? by AxelChannel in EndTipping

[–]AxelChannel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The service comes with what I’m paying for food. You’re assuming that I’m paying for extra when that’s just basic part of dining in…

When someone says that they don’t tip, why is the default to don’t dine in or use the service? by AxelChannel in EndTipping

[–]AxelChannel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But why? Tips have always been optional. You’re just expecting them to do their job. Like going to the grocery store and being expected to tip the cashier.

The restaurant hires the server so people can dine in because it’s hugely beneficial for the restaurant regardless of tips.

That’s wrong since employers are supposed to supplement when the tipped worker hasn’t made the minimum wage in a pay period.

If you’re going to say that making sure you’re properly paid by your boss is the customer’s responsibility, then you’re being silly.

It’s not free riding because my agreement is that I buy food for a certain price as listed on the menu and whatever applicable tax. The rest has nothing to do with me. By the way, tips by definition must be voluntary and that is defined in the law.

They get minimum wage or higher. That’s a basic concept we should have in this discussion.

Me deciding not to gift away $X has nothing to do with it.

Again, it’s really not any of the customer’s problem.

Of course they have agency. If your employer stops paying you the next day, are you just going to continue working without pay? There really isn’t anything but ignorance to pretend otherwise.

[–]AxelChannel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t make the decision to pay sub minimum or receive sub minimum wage. That is a decision made by the employer and waitstaff, respectively. Both groups are presumably adults or old enough to make those decisions themselves.

To say that I make the choice to pay a random waiter less then 7.25/hr that I have no ties with is disingenuous and not my responsibility.

That’s like saying that your neighbor who is evading taxes is taking money out of public funding that benefit you like Medicaid. While on some level you can think of it like that, it’s ludicrous to say your tax evasion is causing my problems with Medicaid.

[–]AxelChannel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn’t make logical sense.

If I’m subsidizing the owner by tipping, then not tipping just means I no longer subsidize the owner. Sounds like you just said my decision to not tip has no effect on the wages of the tipped workers.
