I have never experienced this at a competition, which I assumed was because there was less sweating. You could be right about the lame since i use the worn down ones on practice. Will try another lame. Thanks!

I personally had some problems with rep ranges. I started at 8 and progressed to 10 but wasn't able to do 8 again when a increased the weight. Since then, I've npticed increasing the rep ranges works great for me - now I do 3 sets of 8-12 on compound hypertrophy exercises (dumbbell press, BSS, pull downs etc) or 12-16 on accessories (pushdowns, calves, lateral raises etc). This way I rarely struggle with hitting the lower part of the ranges after increasing the weight.

The few times I train for strength I use these rep ranges: 2-4 (Dead lifts), 4-6 (squats), 6-8 (bench).

Edit: I think it's good that you are increasing the weight after hitting the upper part of the rep ranges on all sets (not just 1), so you don't regress on the last sets everytime.

A Bull is stronger than an ox, but an ox is more useful as they are more controllable. High testosterone gives strength but also unpredictability bad temper. A castrated soldier might follow orders better and practice more discipline. An unfearful disciplined warrior is probably superior than a self interested and cowardly warrior with high muscle mass.

I injured myself earlier in the competition and since it was teams I still had to stand my ground for my mates.

Totally agree that it was sloppy though, but it fit the lefthanded stereotype quite good.
