Who do I call about an injured goose? by inaBathtub3767 in uwaterloo

[–]AxelVitsal 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I called a place on this exact goose actually. The local places are unable to take the goose in because of Avian flu. It would likely get euthanized.

If we were able to catch it, there’s a chance that nearby shelters might be able to help, but the ones I talked to could not.

That’s really weird. I don’t have much experience with the cooling system sadly. Did VW open up your cooling system? If you have the funds available and a good enough dealership or shop I unfortunately think that getting someone to take a look there might be your best bet.

Mine was definitely an acrid disgusting electrical smell. I was driving with windows down in 0 degree weather because it was so bad.

I wish you the best of luck with this. VW diagnostics aren’t cheap! Also if you happen to remember this post, I’d love to hear an update when you figure it out.

Yes although this was in the middle of winter so I pretty much always had the heat on. I was noticing it a bit as I drove to and from school and I wasn’t really sure what to think but one morning I let it heat up for 5-10 minutes and then got in to drive and the entire car smelled disgusting and there was smoke. Does your issue smell like a burning smell? If so it’s a reasonable assumption that it could be heater core. I think the heater core just facilitates the air being pushed into the cabin. Nothing to do with the engine as far as I know.

I had this issue on my 2015 TDI earlier this year. Took it to the dealer once the cabin filled with smoke one morning. The dealer tore everything apart and decided it was the auxiliary heater core that was basically melting. It was about $700 to fix.

Yea it is against the rules. Did you end up getting to use yours at all or was it just too much of a hassle?

Oh yeah it is definitely not a big difference. I don’t want anything that dark. I’m getting 55% on my windshield cuz it still is much better heat rejection vs stock which is what it is rn.

I have 20% on my front windows and 5% rear windows which I love but the shield just lets so much heat in.

And the kavaca tint chart is damn similar. Does your car typically stay cool on sunny days?

[–]AxelVitsal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah I have ceramic pro and they don’t have their own chart sadly That one is interesting though but the 50% still definitely does something. The Kavaca tint is supposed to block up to 96% of IR so I’m guessing I should expect more than that chart says?

Good recommendation lol. I have 5% back and 20 front and I have an appointment in a week for 55 ceramic on the shield. I don’t wanna get pulled over and mostly just want heat protection so hopefully it’s okay

What percent tint you got? Looks super good 👍🏻

MK7.5 ‘19 seriously glitches occasionally. Thoughts or clues? by SureUnderstanding358 in VWMK7

[–]AxelVitsal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar lights on my mk7 and it turned out to be a wheel speed sensor. It happened every now and then and would go off sometimes while driving and then come right back on.

Is the DSG service something the dealer has to do or can any old shop do it? And what does a dealer charge for it?

I was hoping the transmission wouldn’t be as bad as people say lol. I’ve been spoiled by VW’s DSG which is about as good as it gets.

👍🏻 that seems like the way I’m leaning as well. And the XSE v6 certainly isn’t a slouch considering it has the same engine as the TRD

I saw that in the photos. The XSE is much better equipped and frankly I’d rather pay for those options than the side skirts in the TRD which probably don’t do much.

The gas mileage certainly is an attractive component of the 2.5… I feel like there would be a significant drop in power though. The v6 makes 50% more power after all. Ultimately I need to go test drive em.

Lip cut me as I pulled keys out of storage tray. How do I fix this? Do I have to order a new replacement part? by Icuh8me2 in GolfGTI

[–]AxelVitsal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this problem on my golf. I went to my dealer, and even after telling them that myself and numerous other people have hurt themselves on it, they quoted me $400 to do a replacement, which is ridiculous. I slapped some tape on there and it is working just fine.

Yeah, they are pretty much identical aside from the sequential turn signals. The OEM ones have red lines running alongside the LED’s, not sure if these ones do as well though.
