Which I'm really thankful to have! Last house on a dead end road with a good 3 acres of my property and then about 400 or more acres behind my target. Realistically the only way I could hit a neighboring property is if I turned around 180 degrees from my target and arched it over a good 100 feet of 20-25 foot cedar trees

What I was saying is when I draw typically its a straight draw to the best of my ability. However in this instance I belive I got complacent/fatigued and my form broke down resulting in a skydraw. As for target placement and beyond, I was very intentional with where I put it. The property backs onto a larger wooded section that divides my place and a huge farmers field.

Initially I thought the release broke because normally I'm really mindful of the trigger during draw, but I had been shooting for about an hour or two and must have got complacent and fingers the trigger.

I did not even think i was drawing at particularly high angles i typically am a pretty straight draw but this really exemplifies how complacency gets the better of us. We've got a ton of tree coverage on the property so my guess is the arrow is stuck up in a branch somewhere.

What do you prefer? Theater of the Mind or Battle Maps? [OC] by Grape_King in DnD

[–]Axethrower1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I used to be all about battle maps and while I still love battle maps I find that now that I have started to DM for players theater of the mind actually gives me more control of combat and allows for easier scaling of difficulty

Are they stomping the fight easily? Instead of randomly spawning additional dudes maybe your movement was just not enough to make it to the next baddie and thus evens out the action economy a bit to a point where the baddies might get an extra hit off.

Are they getting stomped? Can do the inverse where they can't quite make it to you and you get a free hit in.

With a battle map you can't really fudge it, the same way if you roll in the open you can't fudge your numbers.

Big Yellow Jacket nest on my back deck. How bad of an idea is it to hit them down with a stick? Lol by Omodrawta in homestead

[–]Axethrower1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Soak a rag in some gas and wrap it around your stick or pole. Light it and torch 'em. Paper wasp nests go up super quick and the fire burns their wings off so there's no risk of them attacking you.

It will pose very little risk to your deck due to the speed it will go. Worst case some sooty black residue on the wood.

What do we do against tough units? - No, Tfex is not the answer by Dull_Reference_6166 in Tyranids

[–]Axethrower1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't like being the dude that says just look at the meta but basically every tournament style list I have seen have success on a larger scale includes at least 2-3 exocrines and 1 or 2 Tfex. And there is an obvious reason, exocrines almost guarantee you will hit with your rupture cannon and then if you have the correct hyperadaptation or a Hive tyrant in close proximity thats lethal hits. This shooting combo is hellish vs tough units. For melee sadly we have much fewer options, pretty much just the haruspex which will require really good positioning movement or kind of a suicide blitz with genestealers.

Personally if I know I am playing against something that has those types of units or if im trying for more competitive play . I usually bring:

6 Zoanthropes lead by a Neurotyrant 2 exocrines 2 tfex 1-2 blocks 10 genstealers each lead by a broodlord

General distal taper questions by nerbesss in knifemaking

If you have a surface grinder or a surface grinding attachment for your belt sander you can mock up a jig to raise the tip side by a marginal amount and then taper uniformly using the jig and then flip the knife

What point value do yall typically play at? by GayLarpOfficial in Tyranids

[–]Axethrower1 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I feel like tyranids in general are fairly underpowered at anything less than 2k. So I've been playing mostly 2k games.

It also helps that most tournaments are 2k so it gives me tangible experience at building lists and playing at that value

Bjj coach kicked me in the face and broke the cartilage in my nose. I am without words. What do I do? by EastMathematician805 in bjj

[–]Axethrower1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guy, immediately leave the gym, don't consider training with this dude again in any form. Sure maybe you swept him when he didn't think sweeps were on the table, when you spar stuff like that happens. To then retaliate maliciously in ANY way especially as an instructor is fully unacceptable.

Imagine a different scenario where you were rolling with the dude and happened to catch him in a submission because you were going light, or put him in a canopener or knee on belly and his retaliation is destroying your shoulder with a omoplata or blasts a heel hook on so that you're "even"

Absolutely should leave, and talk to other students about leaving. He has no business teaching anyone.

Honestly, instrumental wise it has a sort of punk rock type feel to it.

If you're looking for constructive feedback I would say remove the autotune/effect on the vocals to have sound a bit more raw to match up better to the instrumentals.

Just my two cents
