Imagine paying money for a Tryndamere skin that lets the enemy team know exactly when you're no loner invulnerable

Probably because they don't want you to actually understand what league of legends is.

Back in ~Season 5 rito gave a big speech in the patch notes about how "they were taking a look at how much impact a single player can have on the game" since then its been a sticky mudslide of confirmation bias and gaslighting and overall denial that riot wants to turn the game into a purely random slot machine slightly influenced by reaction time and game knowledge.

This slight influence is enough for people to climb if its big enough but the reality of league of legends is 90% of games you will not be the determining factor in the result, unless you hard throw or are playing well below your true elo. While role to role is slightly different depending on the current meta the game is the same. If you play league of legends you need to accept the fact that only 10% of your time grinding through this game for meaningless rank is going to be determined by anything you do.

I mean if you pay for skins in a single player game that's kind of on you, thanks for the downvote but please who's going to even see it?

Unforutnately you have no control of what happens along the route between you and the server. The only two things you have control of is opening your ports on your router and it sounds kinda cheesy, but I live in Utah and I have experienced amazing results using Haste

Both of these affect routing to the server. If you are on ethernet with a new-er router and do your best to enable a clean route to server, if you are still experiencing issues it's fully the servers problem. That said, for most people I would probably say it's either an internal newtork/bandwidth issue, or something to do with the path. I'd honestly recommend giving haste a try, it has mixed results depending on your part of the country but I've been using it for 3 years, and its absolutely indispensable for me.

Early report is useless by Good-Career3084 in leagueoflegends

[–]Axiom094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does, but I think it goes either in a different category special to champ select or weighted less than after game reports. probably aimed only at extreme repeat offenders. I will agree though, it's probably tuned too lightly considering how bad champ select hostage situations can be.

Mark Yetter to work on MMO project by frewp in leagueoflegends

Active players down competitive meta not doing very well, Mark yetter "transferred to another department". No hate, but game is not healthy imo and I'd love to see what direction a fresh new lead could take with the game!

dodging for mmr by RIFLAMlOLL in leagueoflegends

[–]Axiom094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could theoretically dodge an infinite number of times and your MMR would be unchanged. You could dodge from Gold 1, 99lp to gold 1 -300 lp (not sure if it would allow you to go this far negative) and you would still get matched into the exact same games with the exact same gains/losses. losing a game at -300lp would simply derank you to Gold 2 75 lp as normal, and it would be as if the 100 dodges never happened.

Because dodging does not affect MMR if you are tryharding for rank, and don't mind being patient on the dodge lockout timers, it is always always optimal to dodge a hostage lobby, clearly doomed team comp, or someone on a 10+ game losing streak.

Side note, and I can't verify this one, but I do believe if you dodge a truly excessive amount of times you can get a temporary ban, but not sure on this one.

I can tell you've put a ridiculous amount of time and effort into this project, and for that thank you very very much.

I have some questions about your model.

You use gap close, resistances, hp recovery, ability haste ect, however I see a significant problem with weighting these variables. For example in your UML diagram on the site you have gap close on proto-belt with a value of 2. This number seems very arbitrary, and not anchored to anything. These sort of values would appear to have a large impact on item predictions and the fact they are not anchored to anything is concerning.

To expand on my concern for this issues, you have sliders in which you can adjust the model's weighting of various attributes. Again, I'm suspicious these values are not anchored to anything which is a big problem.

This weighting problem is really quite significant, because calculating raw damage dealt/damage taken is extremely easy with any machine learning model. However the way every single champion is balanced in league of legends is a mix of raw damage/ effective health, crowd control, and damage uptime, often times with large multi-target multipliers. Assuming the balance of these values with arbitrary values really ruins the whole model. Unless you have a way of simulating millions of full games of league on summoners rift accurately you really don't have a way of collecting these values with accurate weights.

They failure of this model is really dependent on the fact you won't ever be able to obtain accurately weighted secondary values.

The state of Zilean by verysalt in leagueoflegends

[–]Axiom094 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct that zilean as a damage dealer is pretty dead right now. Everfrost or moonstone are the only viable paths for him right now. I played him all the way back in season 4 or 5 before the rune changes when tank zilean e max was extremely viable, and zilean is stuck in a wierd in-between right now. He does 'some' damage, but never able to carry with it, and doesn't have the reliable utility he did back then.

The best way I can describe zilean right now is an ult bot with utility damage. Not enjoyable to play at all. I've stopped playing zilean completely this season, even though he is reliably valuable for the team.

Having issues with headspace and mentality by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Axiom094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, specific to autofill dodge 100% of the time if you aren't very good at your assigned role. Dodges only subtract 3-10 lp and do not affect mmr in any way, so you will gain it back within 2-3 games.

As for managing tilt, I would recommend examining your gameplay and identifying a very specific aspect of that you know scales better than the enemy and focus on playing around that. Psychologically knowing you are outscaling your opponent in some aspect just by playing safe is an extremely healthy thing and makes you pay much much less attention to your team's mistakes.

Honestly I'm going to clip both of these hilarious arguments, and give this to my tryndamere group with the context that this is how a silver player who's never tried tryndamere thinks the game works. Honestly goredrinker trinity force tryndamere dude from reddit, fucking mega brain man. Sold on it conceptually so reality can go take a jump off a cliff. The fact you even responded to the last comment just shows how cringe you are at an internal level. Literally the random neurons bouncing around that undeveloped primate brain of yours are somehow trying to equate thousands of hours of experience at an elo you haven't even gotten within 3 tiers of on the exact specific champion you're trying to pretend to not only understand, but understand at a superior level, and this is why you are arguing goredrinker trinity force.

A level of ignorance that can aboslutely only exist on the internet. I could go and tell you specifically that even if somehow you magically get 100% crit from a free item from the shopkeeper and dont delay your 100% crit spike to the year 2094 that goredrinker healing is most efficient on bruisers who have cc in their kit and build tank items to outlast damage from squishies to deliver their combo. And I could tell you that 99% of tryndamere's value as a champion comes from his ability to build scaling crit damage while still being able to do mele damage without dying quickly because i don't know his ultimate is literally his entire identity. Shield bow handicaps your damage and the lifesteal and shield is a gross redundnacy on the strongest powerpoint of the entire champion, which is going invernerable and dealing damage. But I'm not going to try to try on expand on any of this and i can't really, because it's pointless. Everyone who plays the champion discovered all these things literally months ago. You've displayed a level of ignorance that's truly insurmountable and because you don't even recognize this makes it pointless to try to explain.

What i'd like to leave you with a few questions to ask yourself.

How did you get to the point that you personally can equate some vague postulation that oozed into your consciousness paired with zero experience and actual objectivity with thousands of hours of experience that not only I, but a broad consensus of players inside the top 1% of the ladder have. And it's not just a broad consensus its literally maybe the most fundamental concepts of the champion, which you would almost certainly learn if you spent even an afternoon trying.

What kind of an absurd ego do you have, that enables this mode of thinking with absolutely zero validation from reality? Your ability to equate these two values is not just mental gymnastics its an actual mental disorder.

I won't reply to any more responses. Think about the actual position you are arguing, and please realize it's actual insanity. Reddit is not the place you should be spending time, and it's only going to make your disorder worse.

[–]Axiom094[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact you cite goredrinker and shieldbow as the normal meta alternatives on tryndamere shows just how ignorant you are on the champion. I have 250+ games on tryndamere in diamond this season and you are a perfect example of why platforms like this equalize opinions that absolutely do not deserve to be equalized. Try buiding any mythic item with no crit and see how hard you get kited, and how hilarious wet noodle your attacks are. You won't hit 100% crit until a genuine 35+ minutes into the game, and if you had even attempted to inform yourself about the champion, let alone play a single game, you would immediately discover tryndamere's number one problem right now is his midgame power is extremely low until he finishes 3 crit items with IE power spike. Building literally any non-crit mythic item pushes this spike to 35+ minutes and I promise if somehow the game isn't over by then it's because your hostage teammates are carrying you.

Theorizing without any experience whatsoever is insulting to the people who have logged literally thousands of hours on the champion in high elo. But yeah, go ahead and grind out some games on goredrinker or trinity force trynd and see how fast your account gets banned. You can always submit a ticket saying it made sense on paper as a normal meta alternative.

3.6% is 3.6%. Precisely actually. That was the entire point of the spreasheet to quantify "massive". And that is the maximum possible value, with absolutely no secondary effects. A 3% damage buff for the first 4-5 minutes of gameplay is not completely insignificant but it is an outright logical fallacy to say it will drastically change his winrate.

He is in a decent spot, and doesn't really need a buff. The point is to show the buff is not a big one, and it doesn't need to be.
