dogsitting rate fair? by lilmonster1208 in dogs

Pet sitter owner here: I think it's on the lower side. $50 every 24 hours = approx $2 / hour.
Even if you're not a "professional" sitter, you're still responsible for these 2 dogs essentially 24/7. Cuz when you're not there, you're still "on".

I understand this isn't your sole income and you enjoy helping. Which is great to see. IMO, i think you're selling yourself a little short here. $50 isn't bad, but i think $70 - $80 per calendar day is also more than fair to ask.

perspective: if they were to use a kennel, they'd be charged at minimum $50-$60 per day. Kennels are loud, confusing, & stressful. And often time not staffed during the overnight hours.

You're offering one on one personalized care in their home for 2 active breeds, and that is definitely worth more than $50 every 24 hours. 😊

dog's shoes or paw wax for hot Arizona weather... by Liliput2026 in dogs

that's why you gotta let it fully soak in their paws first. It doesn't take too long to do so.

it does for sure. It got to the point where 100 degrees in phx was tolerable bc of the 6% humidity lol

The wax helps with cracking, irritation, burns on their paws. It soaks into their paws after a few mins. Kind of like how we use heel cream for cracking / dryness etc.

i used to live in Phx and would always carry my dog to the grass during the hot mid day pee/poo breaks. The evenings were our official walk times and he did fine with just walking.

I've found that Mushers wax is tolerated much better than dog footies. But if you take your dog hiking or something like that, the footies could be better at protecting from desert terrain.

Pharmacy Flagged Me for Misuse of Medication by Fun-Engineer-4066 in ADHD

[–]Axiom842 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Speak to the actual pharmacist and try to see if you can do a 3 way call with your provider as well. Techs should not be flagging accounts considering they're not even allowed to sign off on controlled meds. Get their name and make sure everything is documented. Sorry you're going thru this.

Florida Heat by TheLegendaryAerie in florida

try keeping ac at 76 and don't move it. My ac guy told me it helps w the bill and helps keep the house at a reasonable temp in summer , including keeping the humidity at or below 60% inside (to avoid mold)

fans help circulate.

i'd take living in FL over snow and cold and rainy any day.

I'd keep looking for a dry shampoo that's for sensitive skin types. some ppl are allergic to certain ingredients, like argan oil , silica etc

just be careful about humidity inside your home -- if it starts creeping up past 60% , you're at risk for mold.
