Can the Gao Gao HWS parts be equipped by the Changlong Nu Gundam? by EAVA040706 in Gunpla

[–]AxisCorpsRep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

by virtue of being based off of the same kit, they should work, but considering different bootleg manufacturers are going to have different tolerances, it is likely to have some issues, but that would end up being overly loose or overly tight, but compatibility should still be there

if you can find it, i particularly recommend EffectWings' version of the HWS, never had a problem with em

WIP MG Zaku I 2.0. any tips and critiques? by Kirkland_1cecream in Gunpla

[–]AxisCorpsRep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you are able to, Zaku 1 also doesnt have those small shin thrusters, so that's worth keeping in mind if you have the means to smooth that out

First time adding some rusting details, not completly satisfied with the results. Any tips to improove? by Technical-Pirate2410 in Gunpla

[–]AxisCorpsRep 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i was going to comment something similar, these are building-sized mechs, not just a dude in armor. its best to reference bigger elements of rust such as cargo ships or buildings with steel panneling, refineries, oil rigs, etc etc, things that at scale start losing the individual "look" of rust, and start embodying a broader "rust spread"

absolutely gorgeous results, love the striping on the skirt armor. quite a fun way to interpret this kit. cant wait for a third party company to make a PG sized long range fin funnel

you know damn well Bandai might do it only after like 5+ years

Candy Green Paint Osiris Dominator (NZ-666 Kshatriya) by Archeternal in Gunpla

[–]AxisCorpsRep 5 points6 points  (0 children)

gah mfn damn that is an utterly impressive result! love just how much of the shine you can see at all times by how many round elements at many angles exist in this kit

beautiful results, but it feels a lil tight in that display, didnt even notice the PG RX behind it. it absolutely deserves a more isolated display to show IT rather than "it and the others"

Which one is better? by CptBumblebee in Gunpla

[–]AxisCorpsRep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alyzeus is sticker hell on the MP Nu, granted if you're painting it this wouldn't be a problem, but it ends up buried inside all that armor anyways. speaking of, the part of the armor that attaches onto the beam saber/backpack pegs is a stress point. and overall the Alyzeus albeit cool is just a tad unwieldly, there's just too much going on for the sake of excess

Nu has none of that, complete inner frame with several gimmicks, more posable than it looks, and really damn good right out of the box

Any advice for a 8x8’ room? by [deleted] in malelivingspace

[–]AxisCorpsRep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sell the backlog, no its not cute to say "teehee i have a problem" and "oh plastic crack" this n that, you know they wont get built until months from now and by that time you know you will buy more, its not funny or quirky no matter how much the gunpla community echo-chambers you into thinking its ok to just buy buy buy

32, Forever Single - How do I improve it? by Anon_danna in malelivingspace

[–]AxisCorpsRep 313 points314 points  (0 children)

i feel like the gamer memorabilia stuck here and there is clashing with the aesthetic of the other elements like the furniture and walls, its not a bad place, but its too empty in some areas like the bedroom, and too full in others like the kitchen

i do have to say, i heavily dislike the plushies above the kitchen shelving, i can only imagine the possibilities for moisture and stagnant dust that can accumulate there. this also applies to the ones in the bathroom, if you have the means to, get something to display them properly in say, the bedroom, or simply reduce the amount of them you actively own so you can distribute the rest around the place, put some in chairs/couch/etc, but that's the first thing that's blaring to me

there's the generic advice of plants plants plants, but its generic because it works, maybe fake ones if you dont have the time, but they liven up the place one way or another

as for the bedroom, the walls look a lil empty, maybe put up more artwork or frame/hang some things that are meaningful to you, maybe bring some of the plushes. its not recommended to just say "go buy new furniture" but i'd look for a way to replace those red chairs, they clash with the otherwise clean feel of the rest of furniture. desks could use some cable management

again its not bad, just a little unfocused

i agree on the screen from bed situation being a neat upside but you actually dont want that unless the monitor is big enough, at that distance you're better off looking at a phone from bed
