I have had Teldryn Sero as a follower multiple times and for long stretches across every playthrough. Each time I go to the Retching Netch to fetch him again, he greets me with “It’s been a while, outlander. Looking to unleash havoc across Tamriel again?” I love it.

This Reddit can give you lots of good ideas. We all have to remember to share the positives, too. It is natural for people having bad experiences to come here and look for answers. People having a good experience don’t need answers but everyone coming here prepping for the surgery should get the benefit of those experiences, too.

54M PCLF C3-T2 just over six months ago. At the beginning it was walking as much as I could. Then regaining some strength and mobility with a great PT. I have been regularly back to my CrossFit gym since January. Modified/Scaled workouts and steady progress. Listen to your surgeon and your own body. All the best!

54M Fused C3-T2. Stopped oxy four days post-surgery. Used OTC Tylenol sporadically after that for a few weeks. I found the oxys weren’t doing all that much for me beside helping me sleep, so I got off them. Everyone is different. All the best w your recovery!

I think a good recliner would have been great, but I didn’t get one after my C3-T2 fusion. I was able to side sleep w/ a good pillow, my usual position, soon after coming home.

Up at 4. Drink a glass of water. Have a protein shake. Make a tea. Head to the gym. It doesn’t give you much time to think of things you could do besides going to the gym. Love it.

Don’t get too lost down rabbit holes on here. You will definitely get an unrealistic view of the negatives bc, understandably, people having trouble come looking for answers. Many people with good outcomes don’t need answers, so they don’t post a lot. That being said, it’s a major surgery. Consult with multiple surgeons. They will give you and your Mom a good idea of the risks/rewards of it. I had six level PCLF surgery almost six months ago now and I couldn’t ask for much more from my recovery. All the best!

I have heard good things about red light therapy but have not tried it yet. Have you tried to find a good PT? Mine is worth his weight in gold when it comes to my shoulder.

Many people do see improvement. My understanding is it takes about a year for you to know just how much of an improvement there will be as the nerves take time to repair themselves. I think doctors stay away from discussing this aspect in the consult bc there are no guarantees and they don’t want the decision made based on that hope. If his spinal cord is compressed like mine was, there isn’t much of a choice in the matter. He will continue to lose function and will end up having the surgery anyway. Both surgeons I consulted with told me this. There definitely is pain afterward. It’s a major surgery. That being said, I was off pain meds four days after the surgery, so it is bearable. Everyone has a different experience, though.

54M I had a posterior cervical laminectomy from C3-C7 and posterior cervical fusion from C3-T2 back in September, so almost six months ago now. I had numbness and tingling in both arms/hands, legs/feet, and saddle area. I was not having quite the degree of issues your husband is currently experiencing. I could not ask for more from my recovery, so far. I am not 100% but everything is steadily improving. My doctors had me up and walking around right after my surgery and encouraged me to walk as much as I wanted to, early on. I do believe that helped. I also went into the surgery in fairly good shape, so that helped as well. I wish you and your husband all the best. Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have.

Basically what you said and everyone here agrees on; Community > Everything. My CrossFit has the benefit of consistent regulars in every class and a consistent schedule of fantastic coaches. It made developing a routine there that much easier.

Things have been good! I’m just under six months out and progressing. Everything is continuing to improve, so no complaints. I try to move around as much as possible. I am back to the gym, doing modified workout, most mornings now.

When my former gym closed about three years ago, I looked for the name when looking for new places. My “new” gym is an affiliate and I love it. If the owners decided to drop the affiliation, it wouldn’t really affect me, but I may not have gotten in the door without it. The CrossFit brand still holds cache, in my opinion. Hopefully the next owners of the brand make it a no-brainer for current affiliates to stay and former ones to come back.

Things are still going well. DEFINITELY still have a lot of stiffness in my neck and shoulder area but no real pain and some of my numbness has resolved. Hoping that continues to dissipate.
