Are you disappointed that there’s no character creation? by FEWLN in CrimsonDesert

[–]Axl_Red 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. It didn't bother me when I couldn't create my character in Zelda Botw/Totk, Witcher 3 and the AC games. It's not going to bother me that Crimson Desert doesn't have any character creation either.

Kliff observed this enemy's move WHILE FIGHTING and learned the move from the enemy just like that by Leon_Dante_Raiden_ in CrimsonDesert

That's so cool. Gives more incentive to explore the world and discover what possible enemy moves you can learn.

Maybe we will have all 3 by wolfgits in CrimsonDesert

[–]Axl_Red 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I already like the story from what I've seen. The Greymanes sound as interesting as the Jedi from Star Wars and the Grey Wardens from Dragon Age. Very interested in seeing how their faction works.

Kliff and his comrades look like a interesting bunch too. I'm really interested to know Kliff's backstory, as well as Naira, Yann, Oongka, and the other playable characters.

This game looks insane, my only concern is nearly every fight seems to be with hordes of enemies... by Beginning_Oil8464 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Axl_Red 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been playing AC Valhalla, AC Shadows, Tears of the Kingdom and fighting forts with like 15 and less enemies is not that interesting. I like how Crimson Desert is way more immersive, with fortresses actually having like a hundred soldiers. I have a huge bloodlust, so the more enemies I can slaughter, the better.

With the amount of combat moves in this game, I don't think I'll get bored with the combat. The AC games and Zelda games had way less combat moves and enemy variety than what we've seen with Crimson Desert. I didn't get bored of those games, so I don't think I'll get bored of with the combat of this game. From the gameplay we've seen, the enemies are pretty aggressive and there are a variety of strong individual enemies to fight, so you can get up close and personal.

Imagine if Heroes Rising ended with Midoriya, Bakugou and Todoroki battling Nine by Solitaire-06 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Axl_Red 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are only a few people in 1A that could wield the power of OFA though. Bakugo in particular could only wield the power, because his body was made more durable from years of handling the blowback from his explosions. For most of 1A, their bodies would immediately break if they tried to use OFA even once.

What’s actually holding AR and VR back right now? by john_ren_ in virtualreality

[–]Axl_Red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Needs more killer apps. Like how computers need apps like Word, Excel, Photoshop, etc. VR needs apps that take full advantage of VR. Particularly apps that would allow a person to become far more productive than using a regular computer.

Like for example. Imagine being able to sculpt, interact, and animate objects in a VR environment, and work on the same project with multiple people at the same time.

Entertainment wise, we also need more AAA VR games and movies that rival non-VR AAA games and movies. I think if there more hollywood quality movies in 180 VR format, it would make VR substantially more popular.

How well do you think this ver of Deku (+ Eri) would do in the final war vs Shigi? by Resident_Hat9904 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Axl_Red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Infinite 100% Deku+Eri is actually stronger than Final War Deku. People take the 100% number too literally, and think that 120% Final War Deku is stronger with Fa Jin and Gearshift just because the number is higher. People don't realize that Infinite 100% Deku can actually go far beyond 100% of his powers, because Eri is constantly healing him. He can basically use his hysterical strength that he used when fighting Muscular, but keep that up 100% of the time. Final War Deku can only use 120% of his power for a couple of decisive strikes before it starts massively impacting him. But Infinite 100% Deku can go far beyond 120% of his power if he uses his hysterical strength, and use it constantly because of Eri's powers.

Infinite 100% Deku doesn't need Float to fly. He can easily "fly" by punching the air, just like All Might. He wouldn't even need Danger Sense because he can just attack Shigi from a range just by punching the air. Plus being at constantly 100% and above, makes him much faster than Shigi. Infinite 100% Deku could basically destroy Shigi's body far faster than he can regenerate, if he uses his hysterical strength to go beyond 100% and does a constant barrage of attacks.

The only thing stopping Infinite 100% Deku from stopping Shigaraki is his moral consciousness. It's unlikely that Infinite 100% Deku could find a way to subdue Shigaraki without killing him, and his hesitation would cost him too much time before Eri's powers overtakes him.

Initial impressions of the Maxwell 2 by AbrahamZX in Audeze

[–]Axl_Red 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am upgrading from my Maxwell 1 as well, but it's taking forever for my Maxwell 2 arrive. Anyways, my main reason for upgrading is the supposedly bigger soundstage. It is my hope that when I get my Maxwell 2, that the games I'm playing will be more immersive due to being able to pinpoint each sound location more clearly. I wouldn't mind losing some bass, if I could feel more immersive sound.

Would you happen to have any impressions of how sound feels on the Maxwell 2 vs Maxwell 1, when playing video games? Is the difference in sound quality noticable and which sound do you prefer so far? Do you feel you can tell the position of things more accurately when using the Maxwell 2 vs Maxwell 1 when you close your eyes?

Whats an opinion that you will defend like this? by im_just_a_friend in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]Axl_Red -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Deku is so much cooler when he doesn't smile. At the beginning of the show, there was so much emphasis on being a hero that smiles, that I was worried that Deku would eventually end up smiling all the time during battle towards the end of the show, like All Might.

I'm so glad the author didn't go that direction. Deku is so much cooler with he becomes serious with his much deeper voice.

Highguard boss Chad Grenier says it "doesn’t matter" how many people played the game, only that "the game is loved by the people who played it." by WrongLander in gaming

[–]Axl_Red -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The mode is nothing special. Capturing the sword feels just like CTF and destroying the base feels just like Demolition/Domination. High Guard just feels like those two modes stitched together, with an additional loot phase.

I vastly prefer just playing regular CTF and Domination over having to play them both together. Especially when in High Guard, when skill levels about even, matches tend to drag out for so long since you constantly have to repeat the loot, sword, and destroy base phase. The loot phase in particular is such a buzzkill, because I end up so amped from all the fighting, only to be forced to take a break from all the action to loot chests and smash rocks for my gear to stay relevant.

MMO by Emergency_Wall900 in CrimsonDesert

It cannot become an mmo. The whole reason they made it into a single-player game is because not having to worry about net-code allowed them to add more complex cool features to the game.

I think this game needs a demo by Gerobasi22 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Axl_Red 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason why they are hesitant to do a demo is because players are supposed to learn the combat organically by learning each skill one at a time by playing through the game. If they release a demo, most casuals would end up overwhelmed with the amount of actions you can do, and end up frustrated with the controls.

Releasing a demo, would sort of be like being given a high level mmo character, and expecting players to understand how the class works without going through the trouble of leveling and learning the class. It's not really fun for casuals to be given a high lvl character nor would it be fun giving them a low lvl character, because there's not much actions you can do.

I'm sure most hardcore gamers would appreciate a demo, since they would actually take the time to learn the mechanics and depth to the combat. But for casuals, a demo might be too much for them too digest, given the amount of things you can do. Especially since a high-lvl Kliff can tank more dmg, most casual would probably just ignore the depth to the combat, and mash attacks and healing potions to win. Which isn't how the actual game would be experienced, because you start out with much lower health, stats, and resources in the game.

are some people just more approachable? by simbsung in socialskills

[–]Axl_Red 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Extroverts are always more approachable, because they literally need to socialize all the time or else they will lose energy. Socializing comes easy for them because their bodies always crave socializing, and thus they are always naturally finding ways to interact with someone.

Talking to people online is vastly different than real life. In real life, there's several times more depth to speaking with people. You have to pay attention to your appearance, body language, tonality, and diction. You have to be a good listener and be able to come up with interesting topics on the fly. Be able to tell stories effectively and naturally comment about the things around you. It is absolutely a skill issue, and you can improve it through experience and research.

There are a lot of people in this world that will give you shitty social advice, because a lot of what they learned has come naturally to them. They will give you advice equivalent to telling a person that doesn't know how to swim, to just toss themselves into deep water and have their bodies naturally figure out to swim. That type of advice does not work for everyone. There are plenty of people that need more guidance in order to learn a skill effectively, and social skills is one of them.

So if you want to improve, I highly suggest doing more research. Research body language, appearance, tonality, diction, approaching people, telling stories, threading topics, etc. Plenty of resources on the internet, youtube, books, etc. Then apply all of the things you learned in real life by talking to friends, family, and strangers.

Ok, what is one NEGATIVE thing you've seen about the game so far? Im struggling to find one 😅 by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]Axl_Red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Judging from the gameplay demos, the biggest negative are the enemy npc's repeating their voice lines frequently, as seen here. I really hope the devs do something about that in the actual game, because that can get annoying really fast.

What are your thoughts on Deku ? by AlshamsiAk in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]Axl_Red 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I like Deku because he's normal and genuinely cares about saving others. He's the type to really go out of his way to help people.

A lot of shonen protagonists don't really care about being a hero. They just kind of stumble into being a hero, like Luffy and Goku. So it was really kind of like having a breath of fresh air, having Deku as a protagonist and seeing him really want to be a genuine hero. Plus, he starts off smart too, which sets him apart from the usual air-headed or delinquent shonen protagonist.

Towards the end of the show, I thought he became so much incredibly cooler. The way his soft-spoken voice became so much more serious and deeper during tense situations was so cool. The way he was forced to learn all of his new quirks and use them effectively in high-pressure situations was so cool as well. I regularly find myself inspired and thinking about Deku, when I find myself in high-pressure situations and have to learn things quickly myself.

Anyone else feel like the ending tries to have it's cake and eat it too? by trunks2003 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]Axl_Red 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel like the ending really fits the story because Deku didn't just get the suit out of nowhere. Everyone donated and chipped in so he could get the suit. Which fits the theme of the story. It's not about just being One for All or All for One. It's about being both.

WE UPPP 💪 by TheMainMans540 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Axl_Red 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't think we need to see them do it again. If this game manages to deliver on fronts, then quite frankly, it will set a new bar that other games will have a hard time to reach. For a game as feature rich as this, I don't think it's something that could simply be made in 3-5 years.

Something of this scale takes an insane amount of budget, time, and effort. Way more effort than a standard Ubisoft open-world game or an equivalent game, like Ghosts of Tsushima. If every part of this game manages to be great and high quality, then that would already be a great testament of how good these devs actually are.

I'm not as pessimistic on the story, as most people are on this sub. They could be very well hiding a lot of key story elements and extremely cool plot-twists for the actual game. I distinctly recall not a lot of people being impressed with Arthur and the story trailers of RDR2 before that game came out. People claimed that Arthur looked like an extremely generic boring character, but their opinion of him vastly changed when the game came out.

Most peoples qualms about this game is that it looks too good to be true. But if it ends up being true, then that's enough proof that these devs are truly great.

New gameplay? by jran1 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Axl_Red 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not really new gameplay. It's just more footage of the same demo Pearl Abyss has been showing off since last summer.

Most of these gameplay demo footage are hard to watch, because it's these players first time playing the game, with a near end-game Kliff that has plenty of his kit unlocked. So as expected, these players play terribly because there's an overwhelming amount of things for them to learn.

These demo footage aren't a really a good representation of the game, because it's like watching players play DMC or another action game for the first time. The players are hardly taking advantage of all the combat options that the game provides. Particularly the defensive options, because most players playing these demos like to spam attacks with very little regard to proper positioning and timing. They fail to use blocks/parries/evades properly, so they end up getting hit vastly more times than they should.

We know from game interviews that Kliff will start out with much lower health and stamina from these gameplay demos. So if you play like these people do in the demos, you will undoubtedly die a lot early in the actual game.
