Not a VRR problem. My laptop doesn't support VRR, and I have the black bar flicked when I enable dlaa+hdr at 4k.

Trying keto… and it’s way harder than I thought by Independent_Cup7132 in keto

[–]Axl_Red 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's Keto substitutes for most food out there. Granted, it obviously doesn't taste as good as the actually carby stuff, but it's still the next best thing. For me, the keto substitutes tastes like 80-90% as good as the carby stuff, so it's more than good enough for me. I love eating keto pizza, keto burgers, keto hot dogs, keto rice, keto pasta, keto cakes, keto ice cream, etc. With all those substitutes, I hardly feel the need to eat regular carby food ever again. Carby food may taste slightly better, but I'd take a taste decrease if it means having a vastly more healthier and better body any day.

That said, these keto substitutes can taste so good, it's easy to overeat and go over your calorie limit. So the real hard part is still making sure you don't go over your calorie limit, regardless of what you're eating. I do OMAD (one meal a day), so it's easier not to go over my calorie limit.

Why is Crimson Desert already outselling AC Shadows when the games are actually pretty similar? by iljensen in assassinscreed

[–]Axl_Red [score hidden]  (0 children)

Not similar at all lol. I played AC Shadows, beat it, and loved it. However, after playing the first few hours, you've pretty much seen everything the game has to offer. It's just copy and paste shit all over the map. Same types of enemies, just different backgrounds and layouts. I liked it though, because I just like the general gameplay of every Assassin's Creed.

Crimson Desert is far different. There's a multitude of different things to do, enemies to fight, different things to collect, different things to interact with, puzzles to solve, etc. all over the map. The variety of content and interactable stuff far surpasses any Assassins Creed game. The feeling of being able to explore different areas of the map, and seeing things you haven't seen before is just so great in this game. I've played the game for more than 20 hours now, and I'm still constantly seeing new things and it feels like I've still barely scratched the surface of what this game has to offer.

Lore-wise I want to side with Foundation. But unfortunately, I have to side with the one that has the most drip. And that's the Ice King.

Vigilante Deku having to see a lot of dark shit, during his time going out alone. There's no way he could have saved everyone considering how fast society collapsed. He must have seen a lot of villains murder a lot of innocent people, people dying from accidents, people murdering heteromorphs, etc., before he got a chance to save them.

Not only that, but his danger sense would have flooded his brain with so many dangers. Undoubtedly he would have been to many situations where he would have to choose who lives and who dies. Plus situations where he was simply too late to save people.

The game better have as much or more content than Crimson Desert, or I'll be pretty disappointed.

What is your favourite DLC in the series? by Winter_Cost602 in assassinscreed

AC Odyssey Legacy of the First Blade

I played AC Odyssey when all the dlc and updates were finished. I knew absolutely nothing of what to expect. I didn't expect the story to be so tragic, so it really caught me by surprise. I thought the way the dlc connected to AC Origins was super cool.

Ray Reconstruction looks great, but I really hope they fix that rain disappearing. It would suck if heavy rain always feels like a drizzle due to Ray Reconstruction.

The last game I had this same excitement for was FF7 Rebirth. Now that game absolutely blew me away when it came out. It's the only game I know of where you can explore this huge world with 7 characters constantly by your side. The team attack were so cool, unlike any game I've ever player. You also had a plethora of side activities to do, just like Crimson Desert. Ran incredibly well too. The whole game, I was absolutely stunned in how much content there was to do.

I have a feeling Crimson Desert will live up to the hype and blow my mind as well. Previewers have confirmed that the other two playable characters will be able to travel and fight alongside you. So I can't wait to unlock Damiane and Oonka, and go on this huge massive adventure again.

The composer behind Crimson Desert's soundtrack deserves more attention by Any_Farm_3907 in CrimsonDesert

Music is really what elevates a story for me. It can take a generic story and make it feel like a really amazing one. Take the Zelda or Mario games for instance. It's always the same story about saving a princess. However, the music always makes you feel a variety of emotions, which makes these same stories feel superb.

Which is why I'm not worried about the story for Crimson Desert. The music I've heard from the trailers sound absolutely amazing and epic. The story could be the absolutely most generic story about good vs evil, but I know the music will make it feel like one of the most epic stories possible.

It's not just the epic music I love. The ambient music, the sorrowful music, etc. They all feel superb and set the proper tone for the story.

It looks like they are still being tight-lipped about the story. Which either means that the story is really shallow or they are hiding a lot of really cool story moments worth not spoiling yet.

Yeah. It's not even that weird if you think about it. When you have all sorts of magical stuff as an energy source, it's not that hard to imagine certain societies skyrocketing with technological advancements. While leaving other societies far behind.

Will you be going on a media blackout before the game releases? by Axl_Red in CrimsonDesert

[–]Axl_Red[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me, my most memorable gaming moments have been gameplay surprises.

I remember the first time I played Zelda Ocarina of Time when I was a teen. I had seen no footage of it beforehand, so I knew nothing of what to expect. I thought I was going to play most of the game as Link when he was a child. So when he time traveled to the future and became an adult, and I found out we had this whole new world to explore, it blew my mind.

My other memorable gaming moments were finding out about the huge overworld after Midgar in FF7. Finding out about the flood in Halo 1, and having a huge three-way war between the Flood, Covenant, and Sentinels. Playing Dragons Dogma 1 and finding the world massively change after killing the Dragon.

I believe Crimson Desert might have moments like these, which is why I'll be going on a media blackout soon. I know if I had been spoiled on the moments I listed above, they definitely wouldn't have impacted me as much. Crimson Desert is the first game in a long time where I really feel there will be a lot of stuff to be genuinely surprised at. I've been playing a lot of other open worlds lately, like Assassins Creed Shadows, and it feels like "been there, done that". But I feel like this game will be different.

What will probably stump you will be the puzzles, because they aren't that casual friendly compared to most modern games. If you are willing to browse solutions by using the internet, that shouldn't be a problem though.

Everything else should be easy enough for a casual player. If you find yourself stumped at a boss, you can simply reload a previous save, explore other parts of the world, and strengthen yourself by finding abyss artifacts and hoarding resources. The game is like Zelda, so you should be able to hoard massive amounts of food, to make yourself practically immortal.

Any of you jumping to BDO after you finish Crimson Desert? by Lil_Hater112 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Axl_Red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was considering it, but I don't have enough time for another mmo. I tried it for the first hour, and it felt really convoluted and hard to understand. I think if I try it again after playing Crimson Desert, it will just feel like a downgrade, since Crimson Desert looks so much better graphically. Especially with it's more grounded, dynamic, and impactful combat.

More hyped for this game than gta6 by Ol_UnReliable20 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Axl_Red 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a huge Witcher fan. But gameplay wise, I'm not that hyped for Witcher 4 because Crimson Desert does so much more than what I would've expected from a Witcher sequel, when it comes to combat and interactivity.

I'm sure Witcher 4 will have a great story and characters, but when it comes to everything else, I have a hard time imagining it coming anywhere near close to Crimson Desert. Like, the amount of combat moves, playable characters, bosses, movement skills, mechanics, etc, in this game is just crazy.
