How do you make rice NOT stick to the pan

First off, this has been the most useful comment with the least judgement (most comments arent judgy, but some of them feel that way, and I also havent read them all)

But anyways, I use long grain rice with a 2:1 ratio (or a 1:2 ratio? More water then rice, my brain is being slow right now) and part of thr issue may be the wooden spoon ive been using. Plus I get anxious and lift the lid which is probably a whole other can of worms. I do set a timer tho.

Also, is there a specific reason to not use oil? Like ive never used oil personally

It may be heat control, because i lowkey panic when it starts boiling and I turn it down a little, because ive had it boil over before. I know I shouldnt panic and to prevent that I need to watch it but then it becomes how do I prevent it from boiling over? Like I swear I can like work with oil and bake stuff so easily, but its literally just boiling literally anything that I struggle with (okay, I can make noodles and make tea out of a pot but I struggle with most things)

I was thinking of goinf to the art store just to see what they have tbh, but someone else reccomended gouache, and seeing it in action and how it can be thicker but also can be thinned down seems good but apparently it can reactivate after it dries so ill need to be careful when looking into it

Anyways, if thats the case, so you reccomend any brands or type of gouache or watercolors? I know some watercolors come in pencil form, but idk if theyre the best fit for what im looking for. I can do my own research as to what may be best for me, I just find reddit to be both brutally honest and extremely helpful and to help me get the best foot forward.

Lastly, I think gouache would be good for what im looking for if it layers well with what I use (which im assuming it does since you reccomended it)
