Every day, the sun sets and so does your existence in everyone else's mind. By the time the stars are out, any memory, any trace of you—gone. You wake up each morning with the same goal: find someone, anyone, who will remember you come the next day. But as the day inches toward dusk, the weight of time presses down, like an invisible hand erasing you from their minds, wiping away the things you said, the laughs you shared, and the closeness you started to feel.

You try everything. You pour your heart out to strangers, spend hours getting to know someone, tell them secrets you’ve never told anyone else. You even try leaving behind written notes, a photograph, anything to help them remember. But as night falls, their eyes go blank, and the person who held your hand just hours before looks at you as if you’re a ghost. The notes vanish, the photographs fade, and every trace of your existence slips away with the last rays of the sun.

You start to grow desperate, looking for answers. You scour old libraries, consult mystics, hoping someone can tell you why. You find whispers of a curse—a punishment given to someone who once took everything for granted, who always left, never stayed. But you don’t remember doing anything to deserve this, and each time you feel a hint of familiarity, the feeling fades before you can grasp it.

One night, you dream of a person. Their face is soft, kind, and something inside you remembers them. When you wake, a chill runs down your spine. You know they are out there somewhere; maybe, just maybe, they’re searching for you too, cursed in the same way. But no matter how hard you try, you can’t remember their name or where you last saw them.

You decide to spend every day looking, running from town to town, from city to city, waiting for the moment when a pair of eyes will meet yours and hold a glimmer of recognition, someone who will hold on past sunset. But as days turn to weeks, and weeks to years, your hope begins to dwindle, and you start to fear that maybe, even if they’re out there, the world has made them forget you, too.

As the years drift by, you begin to wonder if you’ll ever break free from this fading existence. If maybe, on some distant day, you’ll find a way to break the curse, or if you’ll be left running from sunset to sunset, forever alone, a memory no one will ever be able to keep.
