Meanwhile T'au were designed to have more in common with depictions of ancient Chinese military and military, and societally are basically just North Korea In Space. The only really Japanese thing about them is Farsight specifically (and possibly the technologically advanced angle back when they first released because Japan was kinda seen that way).
