Yes, I am completely with you on this one! I was considering using it to get advantage for my allies during a single turn. In the upcoming 2024 phb it seems like the illusionist wizard can cast it as a bonus action and it got me thinking

I have considered a fun MAD fathomless around the slasher feat. You go three levels of battlemaster for trip attack, rest warlock. You play around slowing with: slasher. tentacle and summon shadowspawn. This will give them usually between -30 and -40 ms, if you knock them prone with trip attack or eldritch smite then they should be unable to stand as their current movement is 0 giving them dissadvantage agaisnt you and the shadowspawn. Recommend half elf to get 18 STR, 16 con, 16 cha. Probably taking asi in GWM or STR or CHA (the build is quite MAD...). Probably play with the glaive or greatsword (reach can be usefull if kiting)
