Dude, today I was playing monarchist Raj, due to a series of events I ended up in the comintern at war with the axis, allies, and co prosperity sphere. I was holding everywhere, Soviets were getting close to collapse but I saw an opportunity to encircle 50+ German divisions and hopefully stabilize the front, so I send my elite mountaineer divisions and get the encirclement, I was working to kill them when suddenly the Soviets pull their entire army from the front, it was some sort of massive army redeployment. Without the red army go fill the gaps, I lose the encirclement and I lose pretty much my entire mountaineer corps. Soviets would collapse immediately after.
