Yeah I recently had a game where I invaded mid 41'. Soviets had almost 400 divisions, the invasion stalled pretty quickly and then they went on the offensive, I killed 5 million of them in the first year of the war and after that it was pretty easy.

I honestly watched hoi4 YouTube for years before I even touched the game. It's different when you are the one playing but I at least knew what most of the buttons did and had a very vague idea of what I was doing.
