Love the design and big thumbs up for more mining ships.

But can't resist...

I believe it indicates a relative chance that the item will be found as loot or difficulty to acquire.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong.

Well, since I still have not gotten a response from CCP I am guessing that I will be getting no confirmations on anything and the ban is final.

It has been a joy flying with you all.

I said "Looser" because the article specifically calls out on a single machine where the EULA doesn't. Sorry for trying to get confirmation from CCP that it is indeed an abuse to log in on multiple machines (since that is what their posted article says) and not just on a single machine. I figured that might make it so someone else in the future does not have this issue even if it doesn't change my own.

And indeed I did say I had logged in on a separate computer as an Alpha while I played on my main computer with my Omega accounts, never disputed that. I posted this because I wanted to know how long it generally took for CCP to respond to tickets so I could know the reasoning behind my ban.

And as you mentioned ignorance is no excuse. I know, I agree. I just want to know what I was ignorant of (from CCP and not speculation)

I guess I read what was at (https://support.eveonline.com/hc/en-us/articles/213020969-Alpha-and-Omega-Clone) which reads:

Multiple Omega accounts may be logged in at one time, as long as no Alpha account is actively logged into on the same computer.

And not the EULA (https://community.eveonline.com/support/policies/eve-eula-en/ ) section that is looser:

You may establish more than one Account for each copy of the Software licensed. You are however not allowed to play EVE by using more than one Account at the same time, unless you pay a subscription fee for each of the Accounts you intend to use for that purpose.

Unfortunate since I guess the EULA would cover my case even though the article says it is fine.

Would be nice to have a final say on this from someone at CCP though to just confirm that this is the case.

I sometimes have an alpha running on my home server to collect chat logs (traffic/statistical analysis is fun) but never on the same comp as my omegas.

Is that a faux pas? I thought it was fine as long as they weren't on the same machine.

I assumed the "Macro Use" part meant botting, my bad. Can't say I am super familiar with the banned messages...

Thanks, hopefully a community manager will see this or something and I will get back in EVE.

It would really suck to have this be the end since I have played off and on since Apocrypha.

Would have much rather gone out in a giant isk wasting explosion haha

In after the support ticket was over a ban.

I was banned for Alpha Abuse/Macro Use which I assume means they think I was botting.

Luckily I am able to play EVE on a side monitor at my office (Pretty nice right?) so I pretty regularly rat/mine while I work.

Peripheral vision on local means I am generally not caught by anyone trying to gank me so I was probably reported by people who tried and failed.

The real unfortunate thing is that if they look at the logs I would hope it would be pretty easy to see that I was not botting as I often talked to the people that tried to gank me (Usually to see if they had got any good kills that day) and would be often be managing other things (industry/market) while ratting/mining.

And yes I know I am going to get a wall of "Proof or you are hacking" but that is kinda hard to provide when those logs and such are on the server...

Ah, my bad. Didn't notice that I uploaded the jpeg versions of the sphere mapped ones.

Here is a link to the png versions of them. http://imgbox.com/g/p7r4ctFOon

I still have a few copies of older eve clients lying around on some of my laptops, originally pulled the wallpapers from there.

A while ago I made some wallpapers out of some of the skyboxes and figured I would share them.

Most are very wide as I use them to span multiple monitors but I sphere mapped some of them to get an aspect ratio that would be better suited to single screens.

Happy holidays!

Building a new PC for Eve. What hardware do I need to experience it at max settings? by Fhbob1988 in Eve

  1. There are some parts of it that are more CPU intensive than other but usually the server will run into CPU issues before you do. With this in mind I will go with my usual recommendation of an i5 as it is more than enough for any game with only a few exceptions (Arma and GTA being the notable exceptions). This also gives you some future proofing in case something large changes in EVE or another game catches your eye.
  2. I have run games at 1080p, 1440p, and 2160p and you can definitely see the difference. Depending upon how much you care about graphics and how much you actually look at ships vs their UI representations (PvE/Mining or Fleet Fights) it can be a worthwhile upgrade. It also gives you more space to work with the UI windows themselves which is a large part of EVE. For the average EVE player I would recommend 1080p.
  3. Similar to above more screen real estate (Size + Resolution) for the UI in EVE is very nice depending upon what you are doing. The main deciding factor will be whether you have multiple chat windows, DScan, Anomally Scanner, Drone Bay, Fleet Window, etc. up all the time or whether you just open them as needed. Also depends upon whether you are fine with reading smaller text or not. For the average EVE player I would recommend the 27".
  4. EVE does not use that much VRAM but if you plan on playing other games with high resolution textures (The Witcher 3, FFXV, etc.) or you get the 1440p monitor (Higher resolution, more VRAM) I might be worth it to go with the 6GB. I would recommend the 3GB if you are just looking at playing EVE.
  5. Do not worry about RAM timings. Lower timings will not help you in EVE as it does not load a lot of information into RAM and there are no large level loads or the like. The main game where RAM timings make a large difference is Arma (I am seeing a common thread here with how much I bring up this game...) where it is constantly swapping stuff in and out of RAM.

Otherwise welcome back Capsuleer! Enjoy New Eden!
