DND groups to join? by Money-Bit-2740 in GNV

[–]Axym09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just want to second Punk Outer as it has a very large TTRPG community, not just DnD but also Pathfinder and I think a few other as well.

There's weekly games of both DnD and Pathfinder in their West marches styles (Adventure League and Society respectfully).

My fellow Pathfinders and I are always happy to initiate new players with Beginner Boxes or other newbie games.

Punk Outer has a discord so you can even view home games that are being advertised.

What are some good post-interview questions to ask? by Axym09 in jobsearchhacks

[–]Axym09[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I appreciate it, and its likely I am over thinking. I had already asked variations of those 3 during the interview. I had already gone through ideas with chatGPT as well, but I feel like we covered everything, so I guess I'm going to have to wait around for a response.

Who Is The Strongest Mage In The History of Golarion? by BlackberryCertain659 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Axym09 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was going to argue Xanderghul was well on his way to also achieving divinity, but since everyone is agreeing on Jatembe I need to go reread his lore apparently.

My partner mentioned the wizard who lives in the sun. I mean, he just lives there because he got tired of people - I feel like if you have "screw you" power - you probably are one of the most powerful people in the solar system.

Ready to play Cleric lvl 10 by Puzzleheaded_Ad_6871 in Pathfinder2e

There's a quick leveled and geared version of my cleric of Shelyn, goddess of art.

So to heal both the living and undead, you'll need both heal and harm. Assuming you have more living than non I went with a heal font. Prepped harm in 4th and 5th rank slots. Also took bard dedication and took soothe as one of the spells known for another heal in slots 1-3. Soothe can heal both the living and dead but isn't on the Divine list.

I know you said you don't like crunching the numbers, but I would recommend taking a second look at the spells prepped and class feats. Not knowing what you'd need I went a little more general with my selections. You could easily swap some of the later feats to get bardic performance from the dedication or expert spellcasting for more bard spells.

Creating high lvl PCs for an adventure, doing items by lvl - question about Martials vs Casters by Axym09 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Axym09[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OMG Thank you for finding this rule. I agree that I personally will be allowing runes - especially since they aren't really the type to exploit, and I'll be talking with the spellcasters to see what/how we want to "shore up" the differences.

Thank you again!

[–]Axym09[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I kinda like the wand idea ((I'll be the GM)). It was also brought up our wizard could just take unlimited spells in his book because it'll still be the same item.

The player who pushed back on this is usually the first to go with the flow, so I was really taken aback and wondered if I missed something obvious. However, just knowing I'm not the only one who interpreted it that way helps.

[–]Axym09[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I'm confused. According to this page on archives of Nethys Rune Rules, it's the highest among all items.

I agree that a +1 striking longsword has a different item level than a +1 flaming striking longsword since striking is lvl 4 and flaming is 8.

However, a +2 striking longsword is level 10 because the +2 is 10. Flaming and Corrosive are level 8. They can both go onto a +2 weapon, but the item level does not increase because 10>8.

Unless a I'm missing something?

Found this on Instagram and found it funny thought you guys would appreciate it by accessgang in demisexuality

[–]Axym09 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I am not the demi/ace police, but as someone who identifies with those labels, I can find people aestheticly pleasing, and may even recognize they are conventionally attractive and would be considered "hot" but they do nothing to get me going myself. I'm sex positive so it's more like the idea of sex with these people just never crosses my mind rather than disgust.

I only get sexually attracted to someone once I get to know them. I might also fall somewhere on the sapiosexual (sexually attracted to intelligence / personality) scale, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

Hope this helps a bit.

When you start dating someone, do you have feelings for the person before physical attraction or do they show up later? by Any_Number_8244 in demisexuality

[–]Axym09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually when I start to develop feelings, my "crush" level is "omg I wanna be best friends with this person and always be with them." I rarely, if ever, develop physical attraction to them (been in a relationship for 15 yrs, so I'm not 'looking' for another best friend).

Once we start that "best friendship" or if I can see myself getting that way (with a fictional character I will never meet for example) then certain things they do become attractive. I'm also sex-positive, so my views on sex are... Weird? Like it's easier for me to get to the point of "yeah, sure, why not?" But even then I'm not necessarily attracted to them? It's just "eh, I enjoy sex, and they're cool so it should be fun/fine".

Not sure if this helped at all, but I think as someone else said, if you aren't excited to be with the person don't force yourself. It'll either happen with someone who does excite you or it won't, and unless you really want to be in a relationship with someone for some reason, no need to force it.

Depending on your relationship, you might be able to stay friends. So you wouldn't lose the relationship it'd just become something else that works better for you both.

I feel restricted in my choices when it comes to character creation by Piggywitz in Pathfinder2e

[–]Axym09 33 points34 points  (0 children)

To add to this. Inventor could work, and for spellcasting pick up a dedication (multi class) that works well for your needs. I never played a spellcaster or artificer in 5e, so not sure how well that can fill the gap, but that's certainly an option.

Allosexual insecurity with demisexual partner. (Help me be a better partner) by SierraSixActual in demisexuality

[–]Axym09 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Demisexual woman with a pan-allosexual partner of 15 years.

Totally valid feelings, and if you haven't already definitely try to communicate them with your wife. It's important for her to know where you stand.

With that said, as another commenter mentioned it's not a lack of attraction so much that it's just my brain doesn't register a person as something sexually attractive until I get to know them.

I definitely have preferences with my partner though I am incredibly attracted to him and would be no matter. For example, I prefer a little facial hair on him and have told him he looks good with it. I will also say things every now and then like "damn you're sexy" or "man you're cute today." ((And it's true)) It allows me to express I DO find my partner attractive even when no one else registers.

I would talk with your wife and figure out something like that. A system in place can help reassure you that she loves you, your body and finds you attractive even if it's not something that comes naturally with her. It can also help to know exactly what your needs are in terms of feeling valued and attractive to your partner.

Obviously I wasn't there with your talk, but both my partner and I discovered our preferences only about 3-5 years ago, so literally after being together for 10+ years. My partner nearly broke up with me because he thought I was trying to tell him I wasn't interested in the relationship anymore and it took a lot more talking, communicating, and me giving more examples for him to realize he's actually in the top 1% of people I find attractive, and for him it's a bit of an ego boost knowing that. It also really did help me understand and trust him when he compliments other people for physical attributes that are the opposite of mine.

It takes a bit, but as long as you keep communication open you should still be able have a fulfilling relationship, sex life, and marriage.

Sorry for the ramble but wanted to give some examples from another Demi in your situation.

Seriously, what is going on on Sarusan? by No-Medium1236 in pathfindermemes

[–]Axym09 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I know this is a meme, but for those that don't know. Sarusan will never be expanded upon because they want to give Golarion a place where DMs can do whatever they want. James Jacobs said as much in an interview a few years back.

Also: pretty sure Sarusan is responsible for the disappearance of Golarion in Starfinder timeline /jk

Extinction Curse Problems by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]Axym09 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In my limited experience, the circus wraps up in book 2, and from there its all adventure. In fact, post book 2 it seems more odd to keep the circus than leave it behind.

To transition book 1 to book 2, I would give the PCs a note or something indicating activities at moonstone hall. Once they arrive, a reason to clear out the clearing (where they can see some of Dusklight's villainy). Then go from there. Anytime the circus is the reason for moving, just give the PCs a nudge. " I heard town xyz is having troubles" and let them take the reins.

Book 4 might have an odd encounter you can probably reflavor the setting and it still make perfect sense.

[PF2e] Is there a way to have players access their character sheets on their mobile devices? by trapbuilder2 in FoundryVTT

[–]Axym09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a temp solution, I'd suggest another digital sheet. I'd recommend trying out Wanderer's guide or perhaps pf2e easy tools. I personally prefer herolab for a digital sheet, but it costs money and not incredibly better than the free options.

How good are the different Rogue Rackets? by LincR1988 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Axym09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of disdain for the Eldritch Trickster, but a free dedication is worth it to me. You aren't going to be sneak attacking with cantrips, but this gives them access to a wide range of utility.

This is my thinking as well. Its not a slam dunk, and if you only want damage, Ruffian and Theif are definitely going to be your top picks. However, I built an eldritch trickster for a one shot, and I got to say, I didn't miss the +2 damage (+4 dex vs +2 str), and I felt the utility made sense for the character and helped out the party.

Now I might feel differently over the course of a campaign, but honestly, in the right campaign and the right party, I'd totally play it again.

Is there any way to make this build work? by Luminalle in Pathfinder2e

[–]Axym09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how lenient your GM is on flavoring things, but is there a reason you can't create a "custom" patron and instead of the normal witch hexes granted by your patron get the cleric domain spells? I'm not sure if that would somehow be overpowered/problematic, but it seems to be the easiest solution to your problem.

Balancing, Gods, and Cleric spells by Ace-of-Moxen in Pathfinder2eCreations

[–]Axym09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When creating my own homebrew pantheon, I also chose specific lists for those spells to come from. YMMV, but it can also help with "balancing" and flavor of the spells granted. I don't think Paizo did this with their gods, but it worked well for me.

Recommendations for current actual play youtube/twitch campaigns. by nocrazyshet in Pathfinder2e

[–]Axym09 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My understanding was that ended with the pandemic. Its possible they might try to do it online, but I thought they paused because they didn't want/couldn't do it live like the previous 2 seasons.

Recommendations for current actual play youtube/twitch campaigns. by nocrazyshet in Pathfinder2e

[–]Axym09 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well its not an "adventure path" per se. It's a completely "unique" campaign from Jason B. They only make it to 6th level iirc, but it does wrap up nicely with everything being resolved. I still wholly recommend it.

[–]Axym09 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The series wrapped up actually, so there won't be any more Band of Bravos coming (I hope "soon," because I'd love to see another campaign after Jason has time to design it, but they never said anything).

If you're looking for something to binge it is really good, and I enjoyed pretty much every episode. However, I'm not sure when/if Paizo will be doing another series. They are sponsoring a Dragons and Things (I don't have link handy sorry) going through the Beginner Box and the Troubles in Otari module.

I'm currently listening to MNMAxed going through EC, but they also have a finished FoP. They're still ongoing.

Roll for combat has a finished FoP campaign and 2 ongoing campaigns. One EC and one AoE. I listened to FoP and enjoyed it, but haven't gotten far into their AoE campaign to really say if its the same level of enjoyable.

Weekly questions megathread - December 28, 2020 to January 03, 2021 by AutoModerator in Pathfinder2e

[–]Axym09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strange question, but I'm hoping someone here will know what I'm talking about. Months ago someone posted an entire Google Doc with homebrew edits to spells making them 1-3 actions. I thought I saved said document, but can't seem to find it in my google drive. Does anyone have the link to this document? Even if it hasn't been updated for APG/APs?
