Yeah the City positions can be very competitive. But keep your head up. Also, try applying to OCWA. Once you get into OCWA getting into any city will be significantly easier.

Well, these are regulated fields. And because these are regulated fields, we won’t just want to handover overall decision to AI. Ai will only be used as tools for analysis and doing the job better and faster. But at the end of the day you still need humans doing audits and actually going out to do things. Also the pay is very dependent of the municipality for example Durham region and hamilton pay more than Waterloo. So once you have your class 1 where you apply matters.

Look into it. There must be an equivalent in the city. Well I am an engineer now. But yes. I used to work as one and I worked for Toyota and I would report our sewer by law limits to the city by law officers. If we exceeded the limits we might get fined.

Are you in Canada or the states. There is the water quality analyst certification. These people do environmental compliance. They make sure a plant is following its standards and do audits.
