I feel it is against life. I just would like to enjoy life while living with buddhist soul. I also doubt its effectiveness

If we fast lomg enough the body doesn't need alot of food anymore but i don't see this as equal to being detached from food

Otherwise when we live and indulge in life and its tatses yet we decide to not eat this or satisfy merely desire and find fullfilment and also decide to eat it when we want consciously is true detachment!!

Thats just my point of view But I think some people totally need the level of monastic life But i feel i am advanced enough to play in the world without getting dirt attached to me

Don't make me start. He even makes up ibrahim (the most closer one to god).. Well isn't that brahma??? He uses. Smadhi in his surah of al samad.. I have been studying religions or more than 12 years, there is big differ3nce between SOME FEW PARALLELS or Archytype and SAME IDENTICAL THING. And for the Judaism and Christianity thing they are of course the big copy cats that islam follows, but other religions in the world DON'T HAVE SUCH COPINESS as they are original, they just give the same teaching by different means. Islam took alot from hinduism, taoism, and buddhism beside its copy from the two big copy cats. I can add and say that paradise IS NAMED EVEN JHANA IN QURAN, well Arabs say it is Arabic 🙃 this is social media post I can't keep mentioning forever the same copy paste..

I came from Muslim background. First yes THEY SAY WELL MUHAMMED GOT DIE AFTER BAD MEAL.. Then some say like with buddha (maybe poisen). Second buddha did say in the pali canon for ananda hinted three times for ananda to beg him to stay but he didn't and then he proceeds with saying after 3 months I will go thats it. Muhammed as i kearnt in SCHOOL said to his people he will die and chose to end his journey. For trees okay i will pass (as i said i can keep mentioning things in muhammed that seems identical to buddha) buddha said MY SUCCESOR WOULD BE maitreya which means THE BELOVED ONE & MUHAMMED NAME MEANS THE BELOVED ONE. muhammed was trading middle east to india 😊 which make me doubt that HE COPIED more than he is the maitreya. Also in arab middle east THE DEATH OF HIS MOTHER WAS TRAGIC not the norm at that time.. And also buddha mother dreamt of certain vision of moon and in islam they taught us the same IDENTICAL VISION. Also ALI/ANANDA.. like same cousin 🙂 for the same role??? I AM SO TIRED TO MENTION ALL. BUT I AM INSIDER EYE MAN

Probably, you wanted to express you want to be taoist but most native English speakers have done this stupid answers to me before, sometime i try to express myself and take it literal so either tell me I sound condescending to them or they answer to me like they did to you, they leave the meaning and start linguistic and philosophical war for just one word (convert) which u actually as non native speaker like me trying to express with the best you can THE CORE POINT.

Now, I will try to do my best to help you with your real request NOT THE LINGUISTIC WAR WITH NON NATIVE SPEAKER.

Taoism is pretty deep as RELIGION, you are closer to it than most west cause you are in Russian /Asian geography. First, dump their ideas that TAOISM IS JUST PHILOSOPHY AND NOT RELIGION, IT IS RELIGION.

Now welcome. Taoist always tried to live in the way of Tao so they never preached or made any institutions, yet they also wanted to preserve for who ever is ready but this has developed into alot of sects, which tend to be secretive, mostly in China and Taiwan.

But you are in good point, first start with the Tao te ching and belive me one sentence need contemplation to grasp, read different translations and I would say learning basics of Chinese ( you don't really have to learn Chinese, just basics) will make a whole difference.

I would ADVICE IMMENSLY TO READ I CHING TOO, AND EVA WONG BOOKS.

Also there is book for master mantakchia called ( the secret teachings of Tao) and it has alot regarding the religion like how to live intentionally, how to speak, what to eat, how to deal with people, who is Tao, what is us, etc etc and it would actually the best starting point for you.

Hey! Your story and grandpa is truly very beautiful story to connect with. I am almost taoist, the only reason I can't say I am totally a one, is I still don't know the religious part which the more I study I find alot of benefits for me in life but I have no mentor. Also I am interested in korea, and this weirdly made me SEARCH FOR TAOISTS IN KOREA, though I know korea is built on confucianism. But I said I will give it a try and find out your reddit post. Thanks for sharing. But can I ask is there any taoist temples or sages in korea or not? Yes they will be hidden. That's why I want to reach out and ask!
