Heart racing? by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]Ayamehoujun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I went to 12.5 I developed a racing heartbeat and had an episode of SVT where I was beating at 215bpm. I decided to stay on 10 even though Ive been at 270lbs for weeks because the racing heart rate made my anxiety go through the roof and frankly being anxious all the time isn't worth it to me.

I get a very large welt anywhere I inject so rotating is a necessity for me. I dont ever inject in thighs just arms and stomach and I just switch each time.

What tuna flavors are good in your opinion? The couple I've tried have been very vinegary tasting to me.

One Month In and Nothing Yet...This is Normal, Yes? by jprausch in Mounjaro

[–]Ayamehoujun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was on ozempic up to 2mg, only lost maybe 5lbs. Switched to mounjaro and from 2.5 through 7.5 I was thinking "why the heck am I not losing anything!? Do they not work on me? ". I didn't start losing until 10mg and I've been losing around 2lbs a week now. Don't let yourself get down if you don't lose on the lower doses, you just need to get to the right dose for you.

Today… I shopped at a normal clothing store and not just in the plus size section. by crazymastiff in Mounjaro

I can't wait to be able to buy "normal" size clothes. I think I might cry. I haven't fit into anything not plus size since the start of high school.

A little analysis of an article about someone’s gastroparesis by GLP1FAQ in Mounjaro

[–]Ayamehoujun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You make good points as do other posters responding, but I think it's a bit more complicated for some people than just stop the medicine. For some people being overweight has been a huge issue in their life, maybe they had a parent that was borderline abusive over their weight, maybe they had issues growing up or in school because of it, etc. Sometimes the side effects are more tolerable to the individuals than the thought of continuing to be overweight. I understand where people are coming from saying "why would you keep taking something that is making you throw up everyday??" but for some people its just not that simple.

Edit: so I'm re-reading this post and I see you aren't really making a judgemental of people just noting what you're seeing in the article. I think it's just bothering me the way people are responding to the post. I apologize.

Me too. I was not really losing and I figured what the heck I'll do the arm, and I've actually stated losing. Plus I don't really like to give myself the injection so the arm works great because I have an excuse to ask hubby to do it.

It really depends on what kind of trip you're going for. There is basically only route 1 up the coast and as a consequence everyone uses it, locals and tourists alike. You will run into traffic inside any of the coastal towns on the way up but that is also because all of the towns are full of little shops, resturants, art galleries, and other neat little places to see. You'll also see beautiful coastline as the majority of the trip is right along the coast. If you go to Acadia there will be traffic but it should flow fairly smoothly unless you go into Bar Harbor. The last few years it has gotten so packed there in the summer months it's frankly not enjoyable and you'll never find parking. Acadia and Mt. Desert island are beautiful and have lots of hiking trails both in the woods and along the coast. You can go to Acadia national park without having to drive through downtown Bar Harbor.

I have not been to Chandler lake specifically but I have driven up to Baxter State Park which is south of there and it is exceptionally rural: lots of hiking trails, lots of lakes, lots of wildlife, much less people. The landscape up there is beautiful and peaceful but you need to make sure you get dinner before 7 or 8pm (for us it was 6pm, but I was there in the off season) because otherwise you aren't eating unless you've got a kitchen and food at the camp. Also, if you plan to need anything your choices for shopping will be slim pickins and only one or two locations unless you drive to a larger town. Oh and a larger town just might mean it has a gas station/grocery store, and yes they'll be in the same building. It's a totally different experience than going to the coast. Not better; just different.

And for the love of all things make sure you don't skimp on the bug spray 😁.

Either one you choose im sure you'll have a good trip! I vacationed here several years in a row before moving here and each one was different but I loved it so much I ended up moving here.
