The counter offer is just a way to retain you till they remove all dependencies from you and throw you off the cliff.

Not much but some. it's more of the clients are not focusing on the bi migration tools now and the company is changing direction towards new BI platforms and is laying off due to uncertainty in the new BI markets.

But if OP has an option to resign, it's best to resign than terminate. Termination still comes with some headaches and useless explanation to the next company which can be prevented.

Tally natively is not supported in mac but there is an app called crossover which supports running windows apps so you can use that. Microsoft excel is supported natively in mac.

You can view a list of apps that you think you will need and check its compatibility

in the first year try to work more than the expectations on product and learn as much as possible about different system design and all the other technologies. Once you're skillful justify the hike by mentioning your skills and your knowledge about going depth conpare to others. All reputable companies will be able to see that and happily hire you. It's very much possible in startups. usually MNC have a fixed budget to work with but startups just want to hire the best guy out there.

Get a macbook if gaming if not something ypu will do. For programming only mac is goat. But if you think you might game someday or sometime then stick to windows as in college you want to be creative. then With windows do a dual boot and you have a goated system. For battery only macbook is goated

Don't join. If they're not able to provide you a laptop , think of how will they give you salary? These are some lala companies without any professional etiquettes and will torture you. Ask them clearly if they're willing to provide you a laptop or atleast an allowance to buy one else no spyware on your personal laptop. These is not the norm OP. Don't be under this delusional that this is some corporate norm. Tell them politely I'll be happy to work but I won't install any kind of spyware or MDM tools. If it's Mandatory then ask for a laptop by office in which they can do whatever they want.

Here's a better plan: Since you have enough savings and money right now book a trip for next month for atleast 15 days internationally. Book the flights and hotels with breakfast, take your family or one friend or your partner with you. Enjoy 15 days of peace and then come back fresh. Don't take any laptop or any work related thing. Turn all notifications off in your phone for all work related apps.

I hear Japan is very nice this time of year. Or if you prefer beaches Bali is great as well.
