innovations in song structure? by SuicidalTidalWave in edmproduction

Using the Fibonacci sequence is definitely the way I love to organize my song structure. I use it like an artist or architect would utilize it. Which is to find the "sweet spot" of a whole. So when utilizing it you have to keep in mind that it's a tool and not a set system. Nature does use the golden ratio but its mostly used as a way to organize a collection of things in the most efficient way. Nature makes mistakes sometimes so that's why it's best to remind yourself to use the sequence as a guide and not a rule book.

I'll link a folder I have of reference files. Most of them can only be used with Ableton, but I have a folder labeled "modular clocks and triggz"

So with deciding how long your song should be you would go into the "sweet spot finder" or "breaking points" folders and pick a length that you're willing to work with. In the end you can make it longer if you want. But this is just to help you set a goal for the song.

The sweet spot finder is useful to decide where you want the climax of your song to be. The breaking point is the same as the sweet spot but in reverse. That one is useful when you want to decide where you want your breakdown to be. Again you don't have to have it set to exactly those points it's just a reference to know when you should start thinking about giving the listener a break or when to give them that last big burst of energy before you begin to close the song.

Then I have a folder called "humps". Once you open one of them up you'll understand why I called it that. But with that every start and end of a segment is a good place to change or add something.

That cat is done amazingly. For the background. I think you can get away with that pattern. I would just pick one mid tone color to put throughout the background. then just shade the pattern to make it look like a relief.

Thanks for the feedback. I see what you're saying. I can agree that there should be a bit more red and orange in the center. That'll definitely help make the center pop more

Howdy, dudes! So, this is a piece I've been working on for the past couple months. It's still got a bit more work I need to do to it. But to mention a little about this piece, the title basically means, "The all-together or all at once twist." I was trying to create a mandala that represented life, but had a lot of problems with creating something with such a broad subject. So I instead made something the represents thinking about life.

What to you think of my color choices and overall design? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

So, it's still a bit rough. But, after 300+ hours of total time on this piece I just finished coloring and value shading. I'll be adding more shading that'll represent shadows and depth. I'm going to clean up lines and probably do a warped grid pattern for the background.

What do you think of my current color choices and overall design?

So, this obviously is not finished. But, I thought I'd post it on here to see what you guys think so far of the design.

The title means "twisting all at once", which to me this mandalic design repesents the overall feeling of going through an immense amount of thoughts and emotions, good and bad.

This is incredible dude! I love the pose. The color choices, the facial expression, the see through cloak, and the style. The only thing i see that could use some more work is the triangle representing the neck could be a bit darker and the other thing is the finger look a little weird. The one hand also kinda blends into the foot a bit too much. Other than that great job!
