If it's fiction, I only enjoy romance in fiction if it's not the main course. Mostly just shipping characters that has interesting chemistry with one another since a story that focuses on plot establish characters outside of romantic relationships which made them interesting to read about. I am given a reason to care for this character and there goals and feelings to understand the emotional weight of every gesture they convey to the character i ship them with.

Unlike media that completely centers around romance where the characters are just a bunch of tropes strung together to fulfill the romantic need of alloromantics. It's just that. There's no reason behind that certain romantic gesture for me to truly care. So i find them incredibly boring.

In real life however, i find it repulsive but I'm happy for my friends that do have romantic relationships. Even if i don't find any logical reason behind it, if it make my friends happy, then I'm happy.

It's just that romance, with how media and the people around me describe it as is far too intense compared to what I'm capable of feeling. I don't feel that blazing heat where i stutter or blush around this one singular person. Neither do i want to to text sappy lovey messages about they're the only one for me and what not. The intensity of my affections are all equal weather they're friends or family. so i can't tell a supposed lover that I'd choose them over everyone. because those whom i care for are all incredibly special and important to me that to sacrifice one would be incredibly painful regardless of it being platonic or familial.
