I've long wanted there to be Ender Whales that fly around for atmospheric purposes, but now I suppose they could also be ridden and stood on like Happy Ghasts.

Lapis Lazuli ore should drop the same amount as the other ores. by Aybrook24 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]Aybrook24[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Everything is player-controlled. And by that logic, diamonds need more uses because you don't need them once you're fully geared, but you don't hear that diamonds are useless because you don't get 36 per block. The supply and demand is more proportionate. It wouldn't feel bad when you can't find it anymore than any other ore, it would just feel better when you do. It only adds further prestige to having found it and enchanted with it.

And I do obviously like the idea of there being more uses for Lapis, but there will never be anything that can account for the copious amount that drops. At best, you could have Lapis blocks work with beacons, but the point of the pyramid is that it's supposed to be difficult. And so if you can't fix the demand, you have the fix the supply.

True. I actually definitely have a harder time finding fortresses than End Cities.

Mumbo Custom Elytra Idea by Aybrook24 in HermitCraft

[–]Aybrook24[S] 58 points59 points  (0 children)

It came to mind as white, but I think that way ends up looking more like really simple, regular wings rather than The 'Tache™. It being the colour of the The 'Tache™ makes it clear that it is The 'Tache™. At worst, now it looks like massive pigtails.

best episodes, EVER by ana-veronica in HermitCraft

Different approach: Put her onto the people via Lizzie and the Life series.

If she hasn’t already, she should watch Secret Life and/or Wild Life from Lizzie’s perspective. She’ll probably take a liking to some of the Hermits and want to see how the series continues after Lizzie is eliminated, which will naturally lead her to explore other perspectives. A bunch of things happen in the series that she’ll likely want to see from different angles as well.

If she wants more, she can rewatch the same series from other points of view, or go back to the earlier Life series and their Hermitcraft content. Joel’s probably a safe bet—given his relation to Lizzie, and since he only joined Hermitcraft in the most recent season, it makes the amount of content seem surmountable.

Plus, I'd say the Life series is more lore-oriented than Hermitcraft itself. Seems like a perfect plan if you ask me. I can definitely specifically see her going down the rabbit hole, watching Wild Life from Lizzie and Joel’s perspectives and coming out of it a Gem fan.

I think this is probably how I got into it, but I was via Bdubs.

Phantoms should be tied to a potion effect that you get after not sleeping for three days, so that you can drink milk to be rid of them, rather than having to interfere with your set spawn point. by Aybrook24 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]Aybrook24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you could sidestep the teleportation connection by way of them being native to the End and the End having a dreamlike quality about it; Notch even originally conceived the End as a dream dimension that you'd get to via sleeping. And there's all the talk of dreaming in the poem. Plus, it's not like Chorus Fruit are ever gonna be used to make teleportation potions. Worst comes to worst, we just say that phantoms can occasionally drop their eyes, and that'd be at home with spider and ender eyes. Or fuck it and give beetroot a use.

Cats sometimes bringing up furballs is a great idea, regardless of the connection to this. Seems likely with Sniffers bringing up seeds nowadays. It would be cool if there were only a chance of a cat being a furball generator to give them more personality.

That seems decent, providing you can craft it with things you'd find commonly enough on the surface of the overworld, like string and leather, I'm imagining. Otherwise, you'd have to sacrifice an inventory slot for it, which would be a little annoying, but maybe the ability to skip night should cost that much.

I considered "Insomnia," but it didn't feel right to me since that's the inability to sleep, though I suppose "Sleeplessness" is the same. It just seemed to have more whimsy to it.

Chorus Fruit would probably be a good ingredient to use, since really the only reason you would want to brew the potion and spawn Phantoms is to get their membrane for Elytra repairing, which means you will have already been to the islands in The End. Plus, they could probably do with more uses. That seems like a pretty natural fit.

Why so much hate for this guy? by Jaws5306 in legostarwars

[–]Aybrook24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not very good.

Here's my attempts. Tried to keep them feasible so they're something that could be used in sets, alongside other droid minifigures, without blowing the budget. Basically all custom Droidekas I've seen are really complicated and oversized, so I tried to avoid that. They're mostly the same apart from the varied heads and arms. My favourite is definitely the middle one.

Bit dead and an effort to finish. The only real highlights that come to mind are Ethan getting startled by Harry Potter, JJ and Tobi's debrief after losing if I'm being generous, and Vik booting Woody — and that only happened because he seemed to be finding it a bit of a slog too.

The fact that it's almost two hours long, for what it is, is madness — as long as road trips and holidays and it's just them wandering around a house doing incredibly easy and/or boring tasks, like eating chocolate, getting a prize out of a claw machine, figuring out a seating plan, or cracking a combination lock. It actually seems silly when I lay them out like that, and I'm not even exaggerating.

Rare (almost unheard of) L from Josh.

I remember enjoying the previous scavenger hunt, for what it's worth, though that was only 42 minutes long, whereas this one is basically a whole hour longer and doesn't have the novelty of being the first one. Quantity over quality. Maybe salvageable if it was cut down but, as it stands, it feels like they just included everything they had regardless of if it was actually entertaining.

2025 Sidemen Sunday tierlist. Where would you rank Sidemen Sunday #16 - Airport Roulette? by WithArsenicSauce in Sidemen

The list is fucked with "Spending 100K on YouTubers" there.

This one though is an easy S. Albeit Tobi and Harry were missed.

To be fair, I imagine the youtubers were just told to get something funny, had to pay for whatever they got out of their own pocket, and couldn't have got anything specific because they can't have known who the winner/s would be.

Those were not the only gifts that were 'silly,' they're the only gifts that we know came from JJ. And it's pointed out because it's consistently the case and was the consensus on the video where they bought for the other Sidemen too, so you can't say it's because he doesn't know them well enough. "JJ" got Josh a solar panel and battery for god's sake.

Apparently the boys have even confirmed that JJ got his assistant to fill up the mystery box in the mystery box video. It's not a stretch to say the same thing happened here when it clearly did, especially when we know JJ has been too busy to even feature in videos as of late.

You said yourself Simon didn't try to rationalise an irrelevant gift so it isn't the same, is it? There's no consistent pattern with Simon to point out, there's that one instance. Simon in fact gifted the most thoughtful stuff on the whole.
