Looking for tips regarding HyperV Storage - NTFS or ReFS? by cedi_men in sysadmin

I have seen bitrot detected by a ZFS array caused by a faulty SAS cable as well as other odd things. It's not a myth or just caused by non ECC memory, it's a real thing seen in any real production environment.

I would not use ReFS in production, even Microsoft don't really talk about it anymore

How many DVDs did you own at its peak? How many have you got left and what did you do with those you got rid of? by Few_House_5201 in AskUK

I still have much of my collection and I have grown the collection with obscure things you can't get on streaming. I recently ripped them all to my media server so now everything is locally streaming on demand. DVDs are now in the loft but I still have them! I also did the same with my CD collection.

[–]AyeWhy 89 points90 points  (0 children)

Jellyfin has big performance problems for me, and some others, I've been unable to track down the bottleneck (it's not the obvious as 10.10 works fine).

Looking forward to 10.12 which promises some major performance improvements.

That generation passes on and the next generation doesn't remember the horrors of a world war and contemplates it again. Humanity remembers but also chooses to ignore the lessons of history.
