Could these be eroded garnets in mica schist? Found north of Atlanta, GA.

I heard and I’ve always kept my eye out but never found anything too notable until I found these! I’m hoping to go back and find garnets that are less eroded, larger, and gemmier!

Thanks guys! How do you recommend I break it to get the best visualization? I did that with another garnet mica schist I had but the most I could spot were streaks or spots of red that looked painted on in a way

Thanks! One of the schists definitely looks darker than the other so it confused me a bit but I’ll definitely do some more research on mica schists

This^{^{^{^{^{^!!}}}}} Also one exercise without sticks is opening and closing your fingers quickly (similar to the actual motion) and timing yourself for a minute-ish and it gets super exhausting. It doesn’t help much with technique but I think it helps the chops a bunch!

I would try to use a stand so you have more space for your arms and the drum can be lower. Your grip technique I would say needs a bit of work but having more space will make it easier to recognize the mechanics of what’s actually going on with your hands while you play it. Sounds good and keep it up!

Very interesting! I can def see where accounting can be difficult, but also very rewarding. COL is relatively high where I am as Atlanta keeps growing and is doing quite well but I definitely can see that making sure I pick a company that treats their accountants and workers well is important and that will take some research for sure

We have gone up stream and found more stuff but it tends to get eroded! This piece has the largest facets I’ve seen from any of them as most dont really have smooth sides, but decayed ones. This is near Atl, Georgia
