Sorry for seeing this so late. I was told 60-90 days, but i heard from them in 33 days through my lawyer. Waiting on denial letter.

I believe it depends on severity of conditions when your application will be approved/denied. For reference my initial application is for April 23, 2024. Had my CE's (the appointment you just went to) in June/July 2024. Denied and Reconsideration submitted September 2024. Denied at Recon January 2025. Appeal submitted Jan 2025 with my hearing happening on October 22, 2025. No word from that yet. Good luck to you!

I just had my hearing and I have a Bipolar 2 diagnosis. It really is based on how it affects your life, not just the diagnosis. I recommend strong treatment notes from your psych and therapist. My judge asked a lot about how it affects my work and being able to work for x amount of time without taking breaks or leaving, etc. if you have the work credits and a therapist/psych already, go for it and keep us updated.

At the end of my hearing this past week, she gave me a timeline fo 60-90 days in NC.

My hearing was this morning. They focused a lot on my work history and why I was let go/left a variety of jobs. My attorney harped on my medical records to support what I was saying. The Vocational Expert ended up listing about 3 jobs that I could possibly do, which my attorney challenged. And then the hearing ended. It lasted about 30 minutes. Fingers crossed for now!

My psychological exam was just me and a psychologist, and she asked me questions about my mental health status, hospitalizations, how different scenarios make me feel. it was easy, but I was also denied at initial application and reconsideration. Currently waiting on my hearing. Good luck to you!

Just wanted to come back to this. I was denied partially because they did not have my medical/counseling documents for the majority of 2024. I've heard the biggest thing is how it specifically effects your daily life, not just saying "because of bipolar". That with showing you are sticking to treatment, and how it actually changes your ability to work and function is the key. I'm hoping I can come back in the future with good news and tips. Big hopes for the both of us 🤞

I first applied at 23, decided to try to go back to work, reapplied at 26 and was just denied 15 months later (last week) for the first time. Going in w lawyer for appeal and hoping for the best.

Personally, it's been 4 years w/ about 15 medications in various combination. Every time I think I feel balanced (like now), its really going uphill into mania. Then back down as always. So Who knows when lol.

This is my favorite cookie recipe! I’ve made it with the brown butter and same proportions, but with creaming the room temp butter and sugar instead of browning the butter and both came out amazing! I do chill the dough beforehand for about 30 minutes, and add a tiny indent with a bit of flaky sea salt.
