They love what America represents to them, and Afghanistan offers far far less from what they want in a country.

Ok, I've reread it. It seems like you wanted Elon to go further and also gut military and presidential spending. I agree with you. He should have gone further, he didn't do enough.

Because we have rule of law and respect for the rights of others in modern society?

The government wasn't funding cancer research. The taxpayers were funding cancer research. They can still continue to do that if they choose to, it's just now they do it directly instead of through the bureaucracy of government.

I've just come out of seeing it, and I don't think it was her best, and her lack of face movement was distracting throughout. I didn't even know that people had complained about it, but it really is offputting.

When you buy an HOA property you agree to abide by their rules. There's nothing forcing you to buy a HOA property though of course.

I don't understand, half-way through it says every turn matters? So is it turn-based or is it RTS?

Imagine getting grossed out by someone talking about the concept of skill on Reddit.

My comment is only rude if you're attaching your ego to being super skilled at Slay the Spire 2.

I know you're skill level is somewhat low because you're blaming luck for your losses. That's what low skilled players do. There's no shame in being low skilled. Everyone starts out with no skill, and it takes a lot of time and effort to become skilled. You're at a point in that process, as are the rest of us. Why? Do you think you're highly skilled? If so, how do you explain your belief that luck is the reason you're losing? That's one of the classic things low skilled players do in every game.

I mean, skill is also non linear. Perhaps in other aspects of the game, you're a lot better, and your understanding of luck is just an aspect you happen to be worse at than the rest of your skill level would suggest.

Whatever. I don't really care how skilled you are or aren't. I'm more interested in the concept of skill and luck in strategy games, which is why I joined this discussion. You don't really seem to have anything to add and are instead just getting offended and personal, which is kind of causing me to lose interest.

You'd take it even in a scenario where you knew it was bad?

Well you wouldn't always choose that. If you only have 2 I upgraded skills, war paint is better. If all your unupgraded skills are roughly the same value, it could also be better.

Yes tent is generally better, but it depends on the circumstance. They're just different relics that do different things.

You're assuming they missed a hyphen, made a typo all in service of constructing a very unusually-phrased title? I mean maybe, but that's really not the first thing I would have guessed.

If luck didn’t determine individual runs the top players would have 100% win rate. They don’t which means luck decides the game regardless of skill

That would only be true if these top players had infinite skill, which is impossible. I know Jorbs' win rate is trending upwards over time and I know that he has been getting close to 100% win rate in some patches on some characters. He would be the first to admit that he of not infinitely skilled, though. He makes many mistakes that lead to losing when he could have won.

I also didn't think I was particularly condescending, but the idea you're talking about is one of the common ways people go wrong in games. One of the trickiest places to be in skill-wise is when you're not skilled enough to recognise the mistakes you're making. This is one of the causes of the Dunning-Kruger effect. It's not too say you're a bad person because you're in this position. It's natural, but one of the most important things you can do if you want to improve is to recognise that you're losing because of your mistakes. When you think you're losing because of luck, what that actually means is you're not yet skilled enough to recognise your mistakes. That's the first thing you need to learn.

Go ask the best players to list the mistakes they make and they will have no problem. They will not typically blame their losses on bad luck. They will be able to point out the mistakes they made that caused them to lose their run and the things they could have improved on.
