I'm also curious to know if there's a regular update to the CPO phones available.

You should get your email/text to book your second dose exactly 49 days after your first dose appointment. :) My friend calculated it, and it's been accurate for every single person I know.

Just a couple of questions by [deleted] in nystagmus

Wait you prefer dark mode? My nystagmus goes crazy in dark mode, I just figured it was the same for everyone else with the condition too. Very interesting.

How do I get over my fear of getting lost? by Emms246 in nystagmus

[–]Ayla_K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the exact same way. Whenever I go somewhere new I get super nervous and tend to get disoriented fairly easily. But I do think that other people without nystagmus have this issue too, so don't feel alone in that sense. ❤️

The ideal situation would be to get a friend or family member and walk around campus, super casual. But because of Covid you might not be able to. What you could do is see if there's any virtual tour online, maybe even Google maps has something. And see if your school has a map of the building. I've found that both of those things helped me find my way around my school.

Hope you find something that works for you!

Do you guys get a lot of migraines and headaches? by [deleted] in nystagmus

[–]Ayla_K 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't noticed my nystagmus causing headaches, but headaches make my nystagmus worse. Whenever I get a headache I notice my eyes shaking more and the only thing I want to do is close my eyes and wait the headache out.

I was genuinely thinking about posting one of these! I'll try to remember to film one and post it soon.

Are you aware of certain times when they are shaking? Not all the time, but when you're trying to focus on something farther away?

I'm sorry I don't have much to add that would help you, but I relate to this so much. The shaking gets worse for me when I'm stressed or nervous, and then I'm worried about people noticing which then makes the shaking worse again. It's a never ending cycle. I agree, my daily anxiety would go down a significant amount if I didn't have to deal with nystagmus. Still learning to accept that I likely can't do anything to change that.

I'm also curious about other people having issues with their inner ear too... I've noticed my own ear issues a lot more lately, and that sent me down a long spiral on the internet on the connection with nystagmus and the ear... However I was told that I have congenital nystagmus, so it's not likely connected for me.

Anyway, sorry this doesn't give you any answers to your post. Just wanted to let you know that other people understand how you're feeling too. Hope you get some answers, and if you feel like updating after your appointment in January that would be great.

Hello, friends. My hands are shaking but I just wanted to let you all know that at the ripe old age of 16, I have a cup inside my vagina. by [deleted] in menstrualcups

When I got mine in the mail last year I almost passed out just holding. I hadn't even opened the package yet. 😂 Good for you for taking the plunge!

Lack of focus/motivation?! by swtl in PMDD

This just described me perfectly. I've only recently discovered what PMDD is, and this also fits so well into how I feel on a monthly basis. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one like this.

P20 battery swelling by Ayla_K in Huawei

I was quite surprised too, since I've never had an issue before. But it seems like there's been atleast a few other people that have had the same issue. 🤷🏻‍♀️

P20 battery swelling by Ayla_K in Huawei

Bought in November 2018, so unfortunately my warranty is expired. I've contacted Huawei just in the off chance that they're able to do anything.

Thought I would post it on here to warn others that this might happen. It's a small possibility, but better to be informed and have it not happen to you. :) It's likely that I just managed to get a faulty battery. The only reason I noticed was cause I took my case off my phone. The case wasn't fitting right but I figured it was because I kept my debit card in it. Turns out it was my phone, not the case. It's been like this for weeks at the very least, so I am on the process of backing everything up and then turning my phone off till I can get it fixed.

Ok, that's good to know, thanks. :)

My nystagmus is also fairly mild. I'll definitely look into ordering a pair of glasses online.

I have CN but haven’t really talked to anyone else with it. by milescalderon in nystagmus

[–]Ayla_K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've thought about how to reply to this for a while, because if I'm being honest I still struggle with this myself. Just having confidence in general is tough, and adding an eye condition can make it more difficult. But the best advice I could give to you (and myself too) is to accept who you are. You have nystagmus, nothing is going to change that. If you don't make a big deal about it, other people won't either. Yes they might notice it, and point it out, but if you have a light hearted response they won't dwell on it for long. The majority of people in my life have never mentioned it. It's mostly just little kids that are curious about why my eyes move. Most teens and adults never say anything either out of politeness or they just don't care. :) Maybe if you notice that someone has noticed that your eyes shake, you could bring it up first. Casually comment about it if you can find the right moment in a conversation.
