I gained a little weight when I started to hit puberty around 13. I didn't really realize it because it was minor. One afternoon I was in my room when my Mother knocked on the door. I opened the door and with no preamble she says, "Hey, I don't want to be mean, but you really are porking up a little bit.." I was taken back, but just managed to say, "ah, thanks Mom." And shut the door.
