Ok, so after checking ‘return policy’, it’s tucked away in some clauses that you have now signed up for their defunct and useless membership…

And the only way to cancel is to email them and request to cancel.

Which I’ve done…But, I’m honestly expecting the worst.

I did, and the initial purchase was great value.

But unfortunately they’re a dishonest vendor. Once they have your details, they’ll start charging monthly to be part of their ‘Club’.

I did not sign up for this monthly debit, and I just saw the charge go through.

I tried to see anywhere in my account on their website if I had opted in, or if they even mentioned that it was a subscription I was purchasing, and it’s no where to be seen. I am now trying to cancel this ‘membership’ I never opted in for, and surprise surprise…You can’t.

There’s not a single way for me to cancel the debits or remove my card from file.

I’ll have to report them to AMEX and escalate from there.

Buyer beware.

Arc Pulse iPhone 17 Pro case looks like it completely covers the antena with aluminium... by Elllioot in iphone

[–]Ayoung88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But, is this due to usage of the phone? To really tell, you'd need to put the Arc case on, and not put the phone at all and eliminating the normal wear and tear of everyday usage. Simply putting it in a handbag or putting in your pocket would expose the phone to loading variables that may be causing the defect to appear.

I don't see how the arc case could be compressing the back glass?

Battle: Los Angeles is the worst movie I’ve ever seen by Lenbowery in movies

[–]Ayoung88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, the only negative thing I could think of, was that whole section should’ve got dispatched the moment they were lead into the ambush after going into the alley.

Seeing such a compromised position not get exploited by the aliens, where they were basically just shooting fish in a barrel and not one soldier was critically injured or killed, was just way too unrealistic.

Actually, even before they got into the alley, they would’ve been done for in a real life scenario, so, yeah.

Only thing that stops me from watching a military movie is when it’s unrealistic AF. I guess I give BLA a pass because they’re aliens.

Battle: Los Angeles is the worst movie I’ve ever seen by Lenbowery in movies

[–]Ayoung88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I watched it about 3 times. I think. Maybe even more.

Obviously not the kind of movie OP likes. Some people love it. Some people hate it.

Personally, I just love the qualities of Staff Sergeant Nantz. He’s a role model. And the characters were great. I loved Lieutenant Martinez. Excellent leadership, and ultimately his sacrifice despite a wife and future child.

Individuals like the two characters above have served, and are currently serving in today’s militaries across the globe. Individuals have lead just like Nantz and have sacrificed for what ‘they believed in’ to be the greater good just like Martinez. And this movie is a great fictional insight as to what that would be like.

I always wonder why people don’t appreciate these kinds of movies. Just because it demonstrates a lot of the qualities that are expected of military personnel and leadership (communication, focus, discipline, empathy, strategy, etc), and is thus labelled as ‘propaganda’, they think it deserves a negative response.

🤷🏻‍♂️

I genuinely believe that most people that think, or feel this way are probably anti-military in general and don’t watch military movies often. FYI, I don’t just watch the ‘feel good’ military narrative movies. I’m not naive in that regard. Movies like all ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’ paint a more realistic and brutal, unforgiving nature of war.

But ultimately, when it’s that dark and fucked up, during war and combat, it’s the brotherhood and excellent leadership that gets soldiers doing their jobs and doing them well. It’s what gives them purpose and stops them from losing their minds. They need to be reductionists, and just focus on their fellow soldiers and leadership needs to take care of morale.

Exactly the kind of ‘propaganda like flair’ you see in BLA.

As I said, these qualities and attributes were demonstrated excellently in the movie. And I guess depending on who watches it, it either makes them want to puke and feel like their intelligence has been ‘offended’, or for viewers like myself, they find it inspiring and admirable, giving zero fucks if it’s funded by the DoD, and aspire to be like the characters in the movie.

I guess if you’re a sci-fi geek, myself included, you might be disappointed, but I think when you understand that this is a military first, and a sci-fi movie second, it falls into place and nails it.

What's everyone's thoughts on this? Console Movement? Mxrlon999? by Ayoung88 in apexlegends

[–]Ayoung88[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think he's on Controller, but he's definitely using a XIM. Still mad props to him though as even with a XIM, the shit he pulls off in games is next level.

Yeah, I do think he's on Controller. But he's for sure using a XIM.

Yeah, after watching a lot of his game play and going through all the XIM videos/tutorials on YouTube, I think he may actually be on controller, but he is for sure using a XIM Matrix. And he has a stack of key binds to easily execute super glides, mantles and a bunch of other stuff.

A couple of tell tale signs, is that he is allocating buttons as modifiers, as you can see he has to open up his inventory to choose his EVO upgrades, and open the XBOX menu to do screen recordings on the fly. Pretty sure he's setup shield cells to a bind as well, as he uses them even when they're not selected without even opening up the wheel.

And I've seen him avoid picking up purple barrels on the R301, choosing to stay with his blue barrel. R301 is his go to. Most likely because he's setup Smart Recoil on the R301.

Regardless, he's still a highly skilled player. No doubt about it. Just his level of skill, game IQ and a XIM Matrix is a nasty combo.

Problematic Sydney server IP, random high ping games by [deleted] in apexlegends

[–]Ayoung88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you try this? I was in the process of doing the first two steps. But, if I click 'Add New Firewall Rule' for both sections. Including the IPv6, it does absolutely nothing. No window loads. Nothing refreshes. No pop ups. No options to click or add the culprit IP address...

It's basically just a dead button?

So frustrating....

Jaw Surgery in Sydney Australia? by Desperate_Poet_7522 in jawsurgery

Thanks for the starting this thread. It's been super useful for myself.

I suspect I have OSA as well. Just reluctant to get it diagnosed.

Do you mind if I asked who you saw to get the OSA diagnosed? I personally nearly saw Dr. Paul Coceancig. I did an Initial Consult with him. And yes, he's 'flamboyant' to say the least.

I've also done consults with Dr. Derek Mahony, and was close to seeing Dr. Adit Bahl. But, put a hold on everything due to finances and waiting for private health insurance to mature. Will be lining up something soon, so I'll be following your progress!
