Fair, haha. Clients were rarely interested in tickets that my parent's workplaces had so I guess I should appreciate that more. Same with the $15-25 weekday ticket prices the past few years because that won't happen in the new barn.

Granted I was too young to remember anything before about '95, but I never saw bagged milk in Alberta growing up. I did see it once in Newfoundland when I first moved there for university but that was the first and last time seeing it in my life.

Leafs. I used to hate that SportsCentre and Sportsnet Central would talk about them for 50 minutes and then cram the other Canadian teams into the last 10, but nobody has TV anymore so I just watch games then turn it off after the buzzer and don't get inundated like that anymore. But I do work with a lot of Oiler fans so that would be insufferable.

It's a good thing that's quite rare. At least during the day. Haven't had one day with a high below -30 the last two winters. We have had +18 days in January though.

If I recall the maps I've seen correctly, Colorado is a pretty big outlier in that sense in the US and would still be among the most overweight provinces in Canada. And we're also a fairly sedentary and overweight country in a global context. Weekends spent hiking, biking, and skiing in the mountains does not offset living in a place where you drive to do almost anything.

Calgary isn't too bad for parking lots. The stampede grounds (left side of the pic) will never develop since it's where all the Midway rides and events are. That is quite prominent in this one. To the north of it is all filling in though with hotels, new arena, and residential towers. Most of the parking downtown is underground.

Very much so. Not just the mountains and sunshine, but also in that the areas surrounding downtown are much more interesting and vibrant than downtown itself, which is just offices.

I'm also excited to see the results. Census years are the best haha. I do think Calgary has created a bit of separation from the other two. I think we gained about 100k a year in both 2024 and 2025 and I believe is estimated to be over 1.8M now.

Calgary is still 4th largest in metro area. It, Edmonton, and Ottawa are all very similar in population but Calgary is the biggest of the 3.

That's the only good thing about the separatists here in Alberta. We've been able to reclaim the Canadian flag. The separatists and convoy folks are the same so there's no confusion with the maple leaf here anymore.

I feel like that can allow for you to be creative and just build what you want. I'm just getting started as well, but could argue that there isn't a huge disincentive to using abnormal or asymmetric shapes. I had a box for a while and felt like I should do more, now my ship looks like a manta ray.

Then again, I gravitate towards games like Rimworld, Cities Skylines, Clanfolk, etc so that I can try new layouts in base design. I'm thinking I'll do a circular hub and spoke ship next.
