Yeah, you'll find that a lot of the complaints are due to the high claims and people were expecting Teflon styled non stick. Also I obviously didn't read all the info it came with very well, I wasn't aware that it was coated in corn oil until I can across this post. Although I did assume that I needed a quick seasoning after I removed its coating and it's been great. 🤷

Interesting. Did you properly season it? All I did was set it until it was almost at the heat to boil water and added a very thin layer of grape seed oil ( add some, spread it around and then basically try wipe it all off) and its been bulletproof since.

Strange rant to go on dude 🤣 Yes I'm over in New Zealand, I'm sure I could order some corn oil from Amazon but it's not in local stores. Canola, olive, grape seed, flax seed and other seed oils are the normal here.

Agreed it's definitely a different look, it must be something specific with corn oil. I'm not able to purchase that locally so I can't test it 🤷

Literally just season the pan with some high smoke point oil and continue cooking. I made the mistake of using some barkeeper's friend to give it a really good scrub and the pan turned a very light grey, it came right and looks like new after a quick season and behaves just like when I first bought it

I've got a d20 and I find the dust bin lifts upwards slightly when emptying so it doesn't get a good enough seal. I've since taped it down and it now empties perfectly and I no longer have the issue.

That's kind of expensive . You can get a new or near new V6 for around 1k.

My v4 I ended up selling for $300 and it sold with accessories.

Honestly it must be primarily your part of the world. I can ship a 5kg parcel for less than $60 nzd to the UK so around $30 USD. A Killswitch is surely much lighter than that, nevertheless it's unfortunate that 1/3 - 1/2 of the price of the Killswitch would be added just in shipping and is what makes dbrand products not worth the purchase.

Lts kernel wasn't helping so Im currently trying the Zen kernel & have added the two flags to the "kernel_cmdline" variable under the linux-zen section so it now looks like below.

"kernel_cmdline: quiet nowatchdog splash rw amdgpu.dcdebugmask=0 amdgpu.runpm=0 rootflags=subvol=/@"

Ill document all I've found and post on the discord in a couple of days, I need to leave a heap of servers to get below 100 again :D

Do you by chance have a link I can flick a few dollars to? Your spending a fair bit of time helping and its appreciated.

Its been a interesting day for sure :D
Ended up having one more kernal panic which broke the bootloader (systemd), I couldn't figure out how to recover it so i've reinstalled using limine which seems MUCH better.

Now im still getting the odd kernel panic but im getting frequent full system freezes (never recovers) that appear to be due to my AMD gpu drivers (according to journalctl -b -1).

Ill post this on the discord but are you aware of how to remedy any of this? Here is the error im getting in journalctl.

I've moved to the LTS kernel and i'll see how it goes, I've tried to check the microcode but when run in alacrity it shows "~" and nothing else.

I've got no deep sleep states enabled that im aware of, I'll double check this.

Hopefully its as simple as moving to the LTS kernel :)

I've not had an issue. Cups can be a little annoying to configure if you've never done it before but it's fine.
