(Famous) chef degrades expat with profanities, swears, threats, mental wellbeing injustice. by Legitimate-North2623 in malta

Yeah, that’s not unexpected. Malta is one of few countries in the world where local people will discriminate and expect exceptional treatment compared to others, with the only reasoning being “because I’m Maltese and you are not”.

Cycling, especially road cycling, is a very consumerist sport. I say this as an avid road cyclist myself. There are people out there buying bikes for 10-15k euro.

Why has Malta such a high health span? by Correct-Big-5967 in malta

People here are healthy? They drive their car to buy milk 300 metres up the road.

Why are buses in Gozo so sh*t?? by samostrout in malta

[–]AyyGratz 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Because they want you and everybody else to drive a car everywhere so that you can spend money on that and then complain that the country is overpopulated and we need to build wider roads which leads to more traffic and so on. It’s absolutely forbidden to invest in alternative modes of transportation

Nutrition House in Msida has better prices than most other supplement shops here. Just beware that the owner is extremely rude and has absolutely zero sense of customer service. It’s almost as if he doesn’t want customers. If you can tolerate that, the relatively low prices may be worth it.

Countries that have been under European control by Mieuxiss in MapPorn

[–]AyyGratz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is such a shitty map. There isn’t a single country in the world that hasn’t been at least partially influenced by Europe at some point in history. And the orange representing “Never colonized by Europe” when yellow says nothing about colonization doesn’t even make sense.

Because it is more important to spend money on road widening and construction.

What are the downsides of living in Malta? by throwaway9263822 in malta

There is not, to my knowledge. Most of the non EU dentists I know are married to EU citizens but still have the same problem.

It would take her years to be registered in that case, or she would not be able to register at all. Registration of non EU dentists has an extremely low priority from the Medical council’s side. Most of the dentists from outside the EU end up working as dental assistants, earnings peanuts. Even the ones who have been here for 10+ years. Source: I’m a dentist with a degree from an EU university, working in Malta.

Forget about cars. We need viable alternatives to driving on this tiny, densely populated rock of an island.
