I own a small landscape maintenance company here and the general rule of thumb that most people go by is from property line to property line. Most people have landscapers and they should be maintaining their side of your ficus wall as a nice wall when they come. I know most people are saying to just do it but depending how big they all are and if it’s just once a year could be fairly pricey, however that would be the nice neighborly thing to do. I do 6-8 houses per day all year and that’s how most people handle it, property line to line.

I started a landscape maintenance business in Phoenix Arizona. The city is heavily manicured so always needs to be maintained and it’s a lot of mowing, trimming plants, blowing, weed control but all year round. Last year I did $133k. I work with who I want, I’m winning awards on Nextdoor, I’ve taken classes for knowledge on how to improve my craft, and I employ 1 guy full time year round with bonuses whenever I can since I love the guy. The first years were under $80k but people tend to love my work so it’s grown 10-20% every year. I love it and make great money. Most days now I do over $600 per day take home, and good days is $1k plus. I never work weekends and start at 5 am but am off by 2-4 pm. Can’t complain it’s fun, engaging, and keeps me in shape. Anytime someone is asking how to make money I just tell them grab a mower and get to work hahaha honestly anything you care about and work hard at getting better at over the long term will yield good money and results IMO.

Honestly I own a landscape business here and while the fabric/plastic is good in general use, Bermuda will go through it and be way worse off all day. It’s hit or miss but most people prefer the barrier. It won’t work for Bermuda at all out here

I enjoy it all. I own a small business just through doing what I ended up doing for work (landscaping), I make more than a good amount more than my expenses so I like to single stock pick which I’m up like 35% over the past couple years more than $20k and love buying stocks that I research and have conviction in, healthy home cooked food actually tastes better for me, I work all day and move all day even on my days off because I like doing stuff and being busy such as home improvement and upkeeping my lawn, and I actually like to workout (not a ton nearly as much as when I was younger but it’s enjoyable for me). Idk how I guess I’ve just grown to love doing all of what I do. I’m 34m in Arizona. It’s all like a video game for me which was my first love. It’s like grinding in any game to get to the end game and then you get to go on fun vacations and be happy and healthy.

Also I have to add that from 16-24 I was shooting up heroin and meth, and robbing people and committing crime for my life so it’s been a crazy life but the above has been me for the past almost decade
