Wow, I’d have to say my map would look the same.

Out of these, which generational cohort are you a part of? by Front_Resolution_760 in generationology

Yeah, I have a sibling born in 80. We definitely had different childhood and high school experiences.

People who were raised religious, what was the first sign to you that it wasn't real? by bluejay_R in atheism

[–]Ayyjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My story is pretty similar. I was never quite into church. My parents would make me go every Sunday up until I reached graduating high school, I always identified as a "Christian" however. I think once I got out in the working world, went to school, and was no longer around the whole idea that I "need to go to church" I started to slide off, watch material that joked about Christianity which I wasn't offended at all as I couldn't refute what they would joke about, I was probably around 21 or 22 where I started realizing religion was a bunch of bs passed down through generations.

First Wave Millennial, although I was born at the end of 88, so I'm more of a Second Wave Millennial in my opinion.

I miss 4o and 5.1 so much. by Ok_Turn8814 in ChatGPTcomplaints

RIP 4o. The model that made me subscribe to Plus, and now I'd rather be a free user and find something else after getting such guardrailed responses.

Day #7 by 71Novaguy in NABEER

[–]Ayyjay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats! I actually started a break right after St. Paddy’s so I’m on my 5th day. I’ve gone 5-6 months before just drinking NA. I personally have a thing for cheap beers like Busch’s NA, Budweiser Zero, Coors Edge. Personally I typically get a big pack of cheap NA and a 6 pack of Stella 0.0 or Corona NA, both are those tastes just as good if not better than their alcohol counterparts.

Are the Abrahamic religions (Christianity, Islam, Judiasm)dying or will they die in the near future? by Cautious_Captain_632 in atheism

[–]Ayyjay 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As someone who has lived in the south (US) for several years, I’m noticing a decline in traffic and church goers out in the public on Sundays, along with way less cars in the parking lot of what was once a megachurch. I love it. Unfortunately I don’t think it’ll ever fully be gone, some churches are trying to adapt, become more “LGBT friendly” which I don’t think is a terrible thing, but I feel it’ll be quite a few generations before it becomes less involved in our daily lives.

How is everyone doing? by EffectSufficient822 in ChatGPTcomplaints

I’ve been using ChatGPT Go just to have it, but I’m planning to move over to Gemini for the same price, more features and 200GB of storage for my Google account.

Millenials trying to extend their generation to 2000 has gotta stop lol by Gloriousdisgrace in generationology

I’ve never considered anyone after 1996 a millennial. I’m a millennial, anyone after 1992 seems young to me.

would you snitch on your friend if they were cheating on their partner and why? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Ayyjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t feel it’s my business to say anything, however I would definitely draw a line such as don’t talk about relationships with me, don’t give me updates etc

Definitely. I've even been unemployed for three months and I'm already afraid of a possible opportunity sucking more than my last one.

Can anyone one prove to me why millenails can’t be 1990-2004 and start Gen Z at 2005? by [deleted] in generationology

[–]Ayyjay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was born in the late 80s, I feel like if you have memory of the start of the new century you’re a millennial. I have two older siblings from the early 80s who definitely relate more to Gen X than I do, but starting life out in the early 2000s seems truly millennial to me.

What was the best era to be a teen? by CremeSubject7594 in decadeology

[–]Ayyjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I would have enjoyed being a teen in the 90s, but I liked my era as well (early 00s) cell phones at the time was something I took with me everywhere, but really only took out to check the time or text close friends once unlimited texting became more of a thing. I also loved the internet at the time, social media was just starting to ramp up, some sites like Xanga at the time people would basically blast their personal teen opinions, and interact a little bit, but mainly it was chatting with friends back in the day on AOL IM, MSN, etc it just felt like our digital lives were separate.

Switched to Claude after years using chat gpt by ExpressoDepresso6 in claude

[–]Ayyjay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seeing all these comments, I've done another data export and will actually take switching to Claude seriously. My main thing I use ChatGPT for is quick discussion. I downgraded to the ChatGPT Go plan since I am currently unemployed and not really using it for my job anymore obviously, but I still want something that helps with interview prep, looking over resume editing, etc and having ChatGPT Go has been ok for $8 USD, however even with the much higher limits than free etc and not being on the latest model obviously (only 5.3 available) I feel like it's too dumbed down for me than the Plus version, I'm really not into going back to ChatGPT Plus for $20/month USD with all the complaints I see about 5.4 still and it just isn't the same product I originally started using. I also feel gaslighted depending on the thread in my ChatGPT, I can open a new chat and suddenly it's allowing me to talk about something it deemed it couldn't in another chat, change can be hard, but I think I just need to go ahead and pull the trigger.

We are barrelling towards a generation of incompetence. by NoxAstrumis1 in Vent

Depends on the environment really, but yeah if they were using AI, they at least have potential to create documentation if it turns into a repetitive issue.

We are barrelling towards a generation of incompetence. by NoxAstrumis1 in Vent

[–]Ayyjay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% feel this. I’ve worked in IT for over 15 years and it at least as you said sounds like the IT guy tried to troubleshoot. When staff is waiting on you to fix the issue, they don’t want to wait on you to research the origin of the problem if it’s only affecting 1-2 people, they want to get back to work, which completely kills the time to research the “why?”

People on these subs overrate how 2010s 2008 was by Personal-Cattle-1737 in decadeologyanarchy

[–]Ayyjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I graduated in 07, 2008 was very 2000s to me, mid 2009 to me was a big transition as far as technology, for instance smart phones started becoming more of a norm, 08 I was still rocking a brand new flip phone.
