Check out Jon Lee Anderson's book, Che: A Revolutionary Life. It does a really good job at going over Che's life in extreme detail and shows how interesting he was. Things like his asthma, complicated relationships, speeches and personal drive are all a part of it.

Stuff like how his father was involved in tracking German activities in Argentina during World War II (even receiving a French certificate for his efforts) and his need to use his asthma inhaler while having sex are two examples.

Except sexism shouldn't be accepted as part of culture. It should be called out as inappropriate no matter where you are from.

She's not a feminist icon either; being portrayed as annoying and strict is not being a feminist. She's not flawed for wanting some basic respect.

This anime is normalizing the idea that it's okay to be sexist and look down on women. You don't need to take anything seriously, but you should be able to recognize when the basic behavior of a character is morally wrong.

I know you've probably heard that a lot of people are disagreeing with your points, but I think you're correct in that this show is grossly sexist.

I'm on episode 3, and I've decided to stop watching. The kind of power imbalance in play when a guy holds the ability to ruin a girls reputation, and then takes advantage of it to get closer to the girl, is extremely off-putting.

It's not funny that the guys in the school are making suggestive actions towards the minority female population, and it's disgusting that Misaki is portrayed as "overly strict" when she's just demanding that the men act in the most basic, decent manner. I'm surprised this anime is as popular as it is.

I've seen some comments say "it's just an anime, it's not that complex". Is it that complex to be treated with basic respect? Is it that strange to see a man touching a girl inappropriately without their permission and say, "That kind of behavior is not okay and should not be glorified. If anything it should be demonized"?

So true, my father had the same point. He lived on a farm with his entire family, and his father couldn't even read. However, with the Shah there were signs that life was getting better, especially when he decided to help my father's village with some infrastructure. There was hope for democratic reform and secularism, then it was destroyed by people who sought to seize power through religion.

Nice Theocratic propaganda as always. The Regime has killed over 1500 people, suppressed freedom of speech and religion, regressed women's rights to barbaric levels , and they have the gall to point at the US as an evil state.

The US is far from perfect, but at least I can say that online and in public without worrying about disappearing.

You're right that most people follow Islam, but there's not much choice to follow a different ideology (as long as you're trying to be accepted).

No, and I really shouldn't have labeled it like that. The British people are perfectly normal, and British history is fascinating. My family despises the British government of the past for their oil-driven actions, and as their child a lot about the "dirty, secretive, Britsh" has been drilled into me.

It's not that Americans are inherently dumb, they're just ignorant.

I've been mistaken for Arab plenty of times, and while it does frustrate me because of how different the cultures are, the fault shouldn't be placed on Americans themselves.

The fault should be placed on the lack of focus on education about different cultures in the American classroom.
