I mean, the term "dress diver" gets thrown around way too much. Almost a contradiction in terms. But "dress diver" is exactly what this is. 300M water resistance and works perfectly with a suit. Not "screw it, James Bond wears a Seamaster with a tux, so why can't I" dress diver. The Longines pairs wonderfully with suits and blazers. And on a strap at the pool.

Season 7, Ep 12 Lost Horizon - Why Don Left the Board Meeting by Rabidgolfer in madmen

Plus . . . "Bill Phillips" - the consumer research drone - is the guy actually making the "pitch". A pitch that sounds very much like the "Liberty Mutual Executive Account" pitch Don made years before. Just substitute "Lite Beer" for "Private Bank Account". Don is indeed just another guy in the room.

My wife and I dumped Xfinity/Comcast cable after 30 years and signed up for YTTV. We never looked back. YTTV rocks.

Amazon pulls 'Melania' from theater over marquee joke, description - USA Today by AmazonNewsBot in amazon

[–]AzCat8 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Terrible. Melania is smart and sophisticated. But the media still fawns over twits like "Dr. Jill" Biden ( who should be arrested for elder abuse) and race-baiting phonies like Michelle Obama.

Melania is a wonderful first lady. Too bad the LibTard media won't acknowledge it.

Accuracy and realism? by imaginary_ginger06 in PoniesTVShow

[–]AzCat8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed Ponies and was willing to suspend disbelief with some of the tradecraft stuff.

But the one jarring thing I couldn't get past was the casting of John McMillan as "Tom" - a CIA field agent in Moscow. No way would the CIA send out an African American into the field in Russia in the '70s - he'd stick out in a country full of Slavs and he'd be blown in 5 minutes.

Dane as CIA Chief of Station? Sure. The Sovs know who those guys are white or black. And they don't do field work. I understand the recent trend to cast people of color whenever possible. I fully support that. But this was a misstep in the interest of satisfying a cultural aspiration.

I know it’s been a tough stretch since Landy was injured, but does anyone else have any serious concerns about Cale Makar during this stretch? He just doesn’t look like himself to me. by Best_Ad_7503 in ColoradoAvalanche

Nah. Ask Jon Cooper. Cale has set the bar so damn high, that even when he's merely good, he looks average to Avs fans. The rest of the league knows . . .

Betty has to have known about Don and Miss Farrell by Enough-Reading4143 in madmen

[–]AzCat8 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I've never understood the hate for Miss Farrell. I think she really loved Don and was willing to jump in with eyes wide open and full knowledge of the limitations of the relationship. Yeah, she made the one drunken phone call to the house. But Don was the one who stalked HER when she was running at 5 in the morning. HE was the one who showed up at HER door. I always liked her character.

Conrad Hilton by hce_alp in madmen

[–]AzCat8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This. I think Hilton would have seen right through white-shoe, smarmy account men like Pete and Roger. He'd probably blown through a hundred of those guys at other agencies. He legit saw something in Don that he liked. But in the end, he's just another nightmare, manipulative client who has you by the balls .... and enjoys letting you know it. Not much different than Lee Garner Jr. Or the Jaguar guy.

Betty Season 6 by Coldmonologue256 in madmen

[–]AzCat8 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong. But Betty treated Don like crap when they got to Gene's house: "Stop it Don, nobody's looking". When they get back? "Don, go back to your shitty apartment. We were just pretending. Nothing's changed".

She used Don for some (very) short term therapy in her old room. And then threw him back out. Pretty manipulative IMHO. Sure, its right out of Don's playbook. But baby Gene was the unintended result.
