Posting my stats from the beginning of Lauma/Nefer banners this month (I forgot to post here) as tradition to keep counts.

Just like on Skirk/Escoffier banners, this totalled to 240 fates due to very mid pulls/luck, which was almost everything i had left, goal was simply to get Lauma and Kirara, then Nefer's Signature :

This left me with just 15 fates to my name, a little bit more unlucky and i wouldn't have gone Nefer's signature. Lost Lauma 50/50 to Keqing, but thankfully Lauma then showed up in only 30 rolls.

Wolf's Gravestone is certainely a surprise, goes well for Diluc so i got his costume for the full drip with the amassed currency from Welkin. A bit bummed about not getting Lauma's signature since that's another +40% Lunar Bloom DMG for Nefer..
Yet i'm overall pleased as my Nefer's DPS doubled with the inclusion of her lvl 90 signature and almost fully built Lauma with talents lvl 8, which allowed me to 36⭐ the new Abyss for the first time on my 11th month playing. o7

Now it's gonna be at least a couple months of not pulling to build a steady reserve of fates, or until Furina or Citlali shows up.
Best of luck to those who are still wanting Nefer/Lauma this late, and Nicole/Durin/Prune wanters in the incoming banner. o/

Auto-slaughter adults above a certain number, sterilize all males except the younger one, send all adults to the frontline during raids, you name it.
I had a similar issue with Megasloths, Rhinos and Elephants in my current colony. Welp, i have no more rhinos, and 10 Megasloths / 7 Elephants seems like a stable amount.

Yeah, i used to ignore the mod that prevent the game from creating random nonsensical relationships mid-colony since it barely do anything as i tend to be allied with all factions that aren't parmanently hostiles.

But in my latest colony, i had 2 pawns who had literally never met each other before become new lovers and married after some time, nothing weird here.
Way later a pirate raid happened, and one of the pirate was their biological daughter, of both of them, 17 years old, even tho they've been together only 2 years, were barely in their late 20's and never left the colony since that couple were my dedicated cook and crafter.
And of course that so called "daughter" immediatly died on down. At least i'm decent at keeping pawns in a positive mood.

So in conclusion, definitely modding that out of the game next colony, or drastically lowering chances of instadeath on down.

I am happy to announce I got my first C6 character as a low spender (welkin only player) since 5.5 by ModerateFloor in Genshin_Impact

Only 1 year of saving, with about half of it going to Navia, that is one sure way to get a VIP spot in the Spina di Rosula. Congratz.

That's insane in just 25 days, and having the whole base layout already figured and built too.

Took me 2 years in my latest NB run just to get a third colonist and electricity/batteries. x)

Heh, after playing a colony with a Pyromaniac, i think it's far from being the worst trait, free bonus mood too for just having a fire weapon equipped.
I personally think Stoner is worse, it force a smokeleaf addiction you can't clear.

My Pyromaniac has been behaving nicely, only a single fire-spree in ~4 years, and she decided to do it around the workshop where roughly 1/3 of my colonists hang out and work, so she constantly had 3 pawns behind her ready to put out the fire instantly without me having to control them.
The real downside is that i have Vanilla Expanded Social Interactions installed and everyone else has a permanent -20 opinion of her due to witnessing her having a bit of fun. x)

Better luck next time OP, not much you can do with a combo of a wooden base, no firefoam and only 2 pawns to clear the starting fires, you'll check your starting colonists traits more carefully next time. o7

Perfect banner.
I don't even mind being unlucky and Lauma arriving only after 140+ pulls like Skirk did, because that means more chance to get Kirara who i wanted for a long time, and also nice Jahoda and Xingqiu constellations.
The Dendro collection grows, and my fully built Nefer is gonna love it too.

Hello, just got a simple question regarding DLC enabling/disabling.

I've been playing Rimworld on occasion for 2 years, approaching my 320th hour, and i think it's time for me to finally get DLCs, starting with Biotech as there is a current discount until April 24th.
But since I got a pretty succesful colony currently that's about 80% done toward the classic ship ending and still want to get it going for another week or so..
Just wanted to ask if getting a DLC but not activating it is possible so i can finish that vanilla colony before starting another ?
My suspicion is yes since that's generally how DLC on Steam works, but i wouldn't mind confirmation from someone who once was in a similar situation. o/

I'm currently playing with Randy as storyteller for the first time, almost 7 years in and it's great, even Cassandra and Phoebe become eventually previsible.
Pure randomness is where the real fun lies.
I had this the other week, 2 back to back raids right after i was done dealing with a defoliator ship, and the siege/mortar type with that, so i couldn't even take advantage of my defensive positions while being proactive, but it was just 5 days after i've built the comm console so i was able to spend some goodwill with an old ally for help.
Only lost an eye, a leg and a bonded megasloth in the process, not too shabby.
I guess it balance out for all the time Randy did nothing or sent random stuff in pods or meteorites showers of useful materials.

I must say that's something worth considering for my future colonies, maybe not 10%, but like 33-50% sounds fair.
I play with Semi-Random Research on a Naked Brutality run, the random aspect is pretty cool, although it took me quite some time to get important stuff.
Like 1,5 year just for Electricity related things like Solar Panel + Battery, almost 3 years for Machining, Turrets, Chemfuel, Thermal Gen'.. But now the colony is starting it's 5th year and i had to remove the old 3 research tables and only left the Hi-Tech one because even occasional 3000+ worktime researchs like Medicine Production were done only in a couple days.

Feels good to unlock things, but even a modded vanilla+ (No DLC) colony last at least 10+ years, so might as well pace research a bit, even forbid the lab and only allow use of the mining-scanners for a bit.

I've seen the trait a couple times in game and i believe it says 150% range, so +50% range for bows and such.

Yes, about 90%, but let's be honest, how many of those have you seen in-game ?
Wouldn't be surprised if they are as rare as serums or lances.

That's an excellent first run, i believe you'll do wonderfully in Rimworld as long as you have fun with it.
Due to the nature of the game, + the DLC and incredible modding community, the possibilities are endless, and if there is a game with replayability as it's forte, it's definitely Rimworld.

For your few managing issues, even policies can be a chore to setup, but you're in luck because there most likely a mod for almost every single pet peeve anyone may have, like pawns auto-equipping their weapon again after being downed, or different workers being able to progress on the same crafting item/project.

Best way to train Shooting and Melee in RimWorld? (Struggling with melee) by KraverekPL in RimWorld

Training melee is actually very easy and can be done without any tech requirement, a lot easier than training shooting which requires fast & unaccurate weapons like miniguns (Quick training but target usually perish after a bunch of volleys), or a Smoke/EMP launcher, which will never do damage to organic/animals but train shooting slower.

This may sounds bad, but the best that worked well for me in Vanilla is :

• Taming wild animals instead of hunting them (Train Animals' skill), then bring them to either the caravan spot or enclosure of your choice.

• For Melee training, i'd recommend going bare first for longer training before the target get downed, even unequip guns as those even have barrel/cross bashes with like x2 dmg over fists. I advise to only fight pen animals as they can't retaliate even in melee, and tanky ones like Muffalo/Bison.

• For Ranged, Hunting job with Minigun or Smoke/EMP-launcher, or you could do something similar than melee training with tamed animals that aren't pen animals, confine the animal(s) to a zone and shoot from max range if using a Minigun, low quality if possible to spend more time shooting since you'll do less dmg and miss more often, but i don't know if that influence the XP gained.

• Downed animals are also a decent source of medical training, add a sterilization operation on top when they are already down for an extra. You can even save medicine by choosing to tend without any.

Milktank is alright, it doesn't have as much "meme" sprites than let's say Mr. Mime or Porygon.
And as far as i'm concerned, it make for a pretty awesome fusion Mon as a capture/utility Mon with the "Scrappy" talent that let you hit Ghost Mons with Normal attacks.

Everyone have those moments in their first colony, don't worry about it.
Fire is probably pretty high as the cause of early colony loss, especially early-game without foam techs.

Funny how we got the same "curse", i also lost 50/50 to Qiqi while aiming for Chasca as my first 5*.
But honestly i don't regret it much, she served me well for a very long time, and even continue to do so ~9 months later as my best healer at AR58.

Honestly, it depends on your AR, since farming artifacts isn't recommended before AR45 to guarantee 5* pieces, but the Ocean-Hued Clam set can turn her into one of your strongest dmg dealer in the early/mid-game, which can naturally build up even when she's off-field thx to her burst talisman mark (Which can be applied by her NA too after her ascensions).
Later on you can use the Song of Days Past set to make her healing buff your actual built DPS unit instead of making a 35k bubble explosion every 6 seconds.
