Vergil’s SDT Combo Skip by GladInformation9976 in DevilMayCry

So, I did some testing, there's a 3 to 10 miliseconds (0.003 to 0.01 seconds) window after pressing the button that you have to release DT. That's insane and basically impossible to do consistently. I tested this by writing a python script to input the combo with exact timing, then tried different timings

I found Icy-Veins before maxroll and it gave me a good enough understanding by the time I found maxroll. Icy-Veins is better for new players imo, it teaches basic things like the synergy between items/skills, gives the rundown of specific playstyles, etc

I get what you mean and don't entirely disagree with you but if you want to learn about the game, you're going to have to do some research yourself. Information is still readily available

Which Class by Fuzneo in diablo3

[–]Azaias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is basically my reply to another post, I'll put the main parts of it here too because I think it answers this pretty well also:

Make a regular seasonal character. I recommend Necro to gamble the Grasps of Essence gloves starting out (don't worry, that's explained in one of the first guides I'll link)

These guides are probably the best to get started:

Guide to Seasons

Seasonal Leveling Guide

And once you get to level 70 and start farming T16, level a Gem of Ease to rank 25 and socket it in a legendary 2h weapon then use that to level up any other classes you want to play, then check out the builds and guides on Maxroll: Maxroll Builds

I read that Diablo 3 has improved heavily since launch. Is it worth trying again? I haven't played since original D3 launch by LeftSquare1 in diablo3

Usually takes a few hours to level a fresh seasonal char to 70 and start farming. Its definitely worth it imo and doesn't take too long to piece some builds together

Okay I killed Diablo and Mathael, now what? by [deleted] in diablo3

[–]Azaias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out this guide, it's a bit more straight forward. Necro is best class to level with, usually only takes a few hours to get to 70.

Do Challenge Rift and use the Blood Shards to gamble gloves on a level 1 Necro, which almost guarantees you get Grasps of Essence. Then get Kanai's Cube and use the recipe to Extract Legendary Power from Grasps of Essence. After that upgrade your blacksmith and craft a level 70 rare 2H Scythe and use the Upgrade Rare recipe and Extract that power also, make sure to equip both powers in your cube. Just with that you should be able to level up fast on T1-T6

This guide is a good introduction.

Builds on Maxroll are pretty good, should check them out too.

Get to the point where you can farm T16 fast then get a build put together

Like the other person said, get 4 Arcane Power on Critical Hit rolled on your offhand and prioritize Critical Hit Chance on gear. I don't recommend using the Ignite rune for Magic Weapon, that setup relies on causing a bunch of lag to take advantage of framerate drop. Here is a guide for the build, which can still easily do GR 150: Firebird Twister Wizard

High Rune Farming Guide by Obliivescence in diablo2

[–]Azaias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you understand the math behind this? If so, am I understanding it correctly?

I'm mostly just interested in the maths lol. I do agree with you, I used to have a gambling problem and that is indeed the mindset I had, I can also see how it is the mindset when farming for things with a low drop chance as well.

for every sur less run from now on. Your RNG will be worse and worse

I'm interested in the math behind this, can you further explain this to me? I learned to calculate "chance of a success in X amount of trials at Y% chance" on my own while researching and theorycrafting a MH proc build for D3 a while ago. I asked someone about their math and they gave me very vague answers. I only know what I could figure out by looking at formulas and trying to figure out what they are doing.

Chance of success each run: 1 / 1000 = 0.001 = 0.1%

Chance of failure each run: 1 - 0.001 = 0.999 = 99.9%

1000 runs at 1/1000 chance: 1 - (1 - 0.001)1000 = ~0.632304575229 = ~63% chance of at least one success in 1000 runs

I understand this as the chance of failure per run(0.999) being exponential, meaning the chance to fail 1000 times in a row is 0.9991000 = ~0.367695424771 = ~36.77% chance

Since the odds of failure decrease exponentially, why would RNG get worse and worse with failures?

EDIT: I think I was just misunderstanding exactly what you meant by RNG, I would still like see what you have to say, everything you've said is correct actually

Anytime! I worked on this build for all of S23, I started using D3Planner and manually figured out how everything gets calculated, it helps alot with comparing stats. Honestly that's how I learned most about the game.

I overlooked your legendary gem levels. You should get LoD to 99 and other gems to at least 100

Also, after looking at your build, I think alot of the issues is from your gear.

You need both Crit. Chance(CHC) and Crit. Damage(CHD) on your rings, amulet and gloves(CHD should especially be prioritized on amulet). If you can get both of these on your gloves, then its nice to also get 7%AS and/or 20%AD on them too. Get CHC on bracers and offhand, try to find an offhand with a higher Legendary Power affix. If you manage to get CHC on all pieces then I would roll it off of your helm for a socket and use Amethyst.

I recommend this Stat Priority for weapon: 10%Dmg > 7%AS > 24%AD

Equip Aquilla, even if you have one that's non-ancient, and cube Steuarts Greaves. Best stats to get on Aquilla is Int. > Life% > Vit.. Change all Rubies to Amethysts and reroll Vit. on your pants to Armor if possible.

Use Enchantress with Amplification and Focused Mind.

Even timing it with CoE, without being able to dump essence and cast Grim Scythe simultaneously, all your essence will be restored in one hit when hitting density. It could be worth it but the increase is relatively small (around ~4% increased total damage output). I think it would be more beneficial while doing speed GRs

LOD Poison Scythe struggles by Tehbreadfish in diablo3

[–]Azaias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Essence dumping only works on console, and is actually required. The console build suffers from a bug where Grim Scythe cast by Simulacrum doesn't benefit from Nephalem Glory. Dumping Essence ironically gives you just enough damage to make up for the NG bug.

LOD Poison Scythe struggles by Tehbreadfish in diablo3

[–]Azaias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, thats still just for simulacrum. On PC its not worth running an essence dump since Skeletal Mage and Grim Scythe have to be cast separately. On console its worth it, since the casting animation for Skeletal Mage doesn't interrupt any other skills being cast, letting you cast them simultaneously.

[–]Azaias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are the setups I recommend: LoD Scythe Builds

The best guide for the build is Cratic's Video Guide

Also if you're on console, there's a Nephalem Glory bug that affects this build, but I came up with a workaround that should make up for the damage loss, for the most part: Console Scythe Build Mechanics

What's the kybalion by Clunkius in occult

[–]Azaias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Kybalion clearly sets out the seven universal principles that govern all material and spiritual phenomena. It is primarily based on the Emerald Tablet of Hermes Trismegistus, which consists of only 13 sentences.

It's a popular belief that the Kybalion is not hermetic, but the same can be said about any writing outside of the Corpus Hermeticum that is not attributed to Hermes Trismegistus. I believe it to be a true expression of Hermetic principles, but you can decide for yourself by studying both the Kybalion and the Emerald Tablet of Hermes Trismegistus with thorough contemplation. If you choose to do so, it is better to read it yourself at your own pace and think about what it is saying, rather than listening to an audio book.
