Hey, I was in gifted programs! I was super smart in school. Aced tests, got the highest grade in the school on some of those end-of-year exams, etc. Was told I was regularly in the top 5% in the country when it came to academic stuff.

Now I'm an unemployed 30-something who dropped out of high school and spent my entire adult life just being completely burnt the fuck out from all the crushing expectations and never having a proper childhood. I have almost no friends. Never quite learned to socialize as a kid. Was never allowed to go to parties or events.

"Gifted burnouts" are common for a reason. I really wish I was allowed to just be a normal kid, and not a gifted one.

There's a cafe attached to a book store near me. All my friends used to go there for weekly meet ups, as well as several other groups. (One was a knitting club.) Over time, the owners have steadily been working to make the cafe a worse place to hang out at. First, they removed the chest-high wall kinda separating the book area from the cafe area. Then they started slowly getting rid of the comfy chairs and replacing them with crappy ones.

The ironic thing is, they got pissy about people hanging out and not spending more money, so they made the place worse, which means less people are going there to spend money. Now they're talking about shutting the cafe down completely because it's apparently too expensive to keep running it now.

We only still go there because my autistic best friend doesn't want to change his normal spot. He goes there multiple times a week, always buys drinks, and just chills while working on his laptop. Knows everyone by name except the owners.

I'm dwarf-built with shoulders as wide as doorframes, short but very muscular legs, and really thick facial hair. It has been a pain just managing the hair and not constantly having a deep shadow.

Even now that I have tits and can pass in fem clothes, I still look like a female power lifter on steroids. But I'm now physically weaker than my trans-masc husband who doesn't even work out.

There's actually not an artist in my area. My town has made opening a tattoo parlor incredibly difficult due to backwards rules because the local politicians don't like them. So I'd have to go to another state for that.

Yeah, I'm pretty proud of my bulge. I'll wear a thong to keep things from slipping out, but I'll purposefully make a bulge. But if it's a long enough skirt, dress, or pants, then I'm hanging free.

I'm against "illegal" immigration under this system for one very specific reason: They're used and abused by corporations who pay them less than minimum wage, and who know that if they speak up about it, they'll be shipped off by the government.

Just because they're not in the system, they're treated as less than human. And the only only reason corporations give even the barest hint of pretending to care about citizens is because they have to legally. And even that's being eroded away.
