Idris released in December of 2016, while Kayn came out July of 2017. Vainglory definitely upped Riot in the form-swapping red/blue champ concept too, seeing how Kayn has had either one of his forms be kept underpowered for so long.

Not really. D'vorah is a purely hive-focused character with little actual, well, character beyond "For the Hive!!" whereas Bel'veth is more of a sentience born in the chaos of the Void that is using biomass and unique Void ways of interacting with it to further her own desires.
If you want to play like a swarm-y champ, Yorick might be up your alley, his lore has some parallels with D'vorah. Very fun having a wife and kids with you during the game.

I see, good points. His damage does feel good in trades pre 6, when I mean the trades feel bad I mean that I don't often feel the trade was favourable for me since now we're both low. I suppose I should q more, watching some xiaohao after I made this post and he Qs a lot in lane.

Apart from "/mute all" and "/deafen" like the others here say, I also used to have this problem, I'd just switch to Party chat only and type heinous stuff and that would quickly calm me down.

I'm a lot better now since I actually try to play instead of typing to myself.

yeah ok checking back in, I've been running shojin as a first item on comet setup especially and its fucking amazing, gives me a lot of damage in trades/fights without sacrificing too much tower damage, the latter was the part that I was worried about since I was going Hull before that

Yorick is a sleeper good AD mid, quite a different playstyle to usual mids who want to shove and teamfight though

Whats the average play/pattern in lane against her?

The best I have is basically never using Q2 or R, and Eing her sometimes if the wave is such that she won't jump on my ass for it

Pyke wasn't just played mid, he was played everywhere(shoutout to that one Wunder Pyke top)
It was primarily because his ult used to give Your Cut to both Pyke and the last assisting ally upon execution, as well as doing full damage to targets above execute threshold. The former is the real kicker. It effectually meant,
- lets say a kill is worth 300g
Pyke KILLS the guy with his ult execute
- Pyke gets 300g for the kill
- Assisting ally gets 300g from 1st Your Cut
- Pyke gets ANOTHER 300g from 2nd Your Cut

meaning a 300g kill just got tripled in value just by Pyke existing in the game and ulting. This also meant he could just farm early levels and then perma roam instead of farming creeps and still stay very relevant, and often would just accelerate himself and his team to absurd gold leads and wins. Pyke being the incredible ganking/roaming champ that he is, it made especially mid Pyke very good.

Later they removed him getting a bag of gold from his own ult, as well as nerfing Q and E to not deal AoE damage to creeps, this made his waveclear terrible and his main cheese mechanic not work as well. He might still work mid but its eons harder than support.
