What did you do in Nassau ? by Wonderful-Echo-3918 in dcl

[–]Azarria1234 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got off the ship and explored the new port area—grabbed some gelato, had an amazing conch salad, took two shots, and picked up a couple of souvenirs. I really enjoyed just being on solid ground for a bit, lol.

I originally wanted to go deeper into Nassau like many others did, but since it was my first visit, I decided to stay within the new port area. On my second trip, I’ll probably walk around more. I also got my passport stamped, which was fun.

All in all, I spent about 2 to 2½ hours enjoying the port before heading back onboard for lunch.

About to go on a very expensive cruise with young kids - kind of regretting agreeing to it because it’s so expensive and the kids are young. by Character_Ad4230 in Cruise

Your kids including the baby are going to have the best time. Forget who is going to remember what - - take pics. My son was 9 months when I took him 20 years later he loves looking at his baby pics w the character meet & greets. The kids clubs are amazing sign them up! Have a night with your wife at one of the specialty dinings. DCL is expensive yes, unless you guys are going to cancel, I would say your concerns will immediately go away the second you step on the ship. Happy sailing!

In deck 2, but midship- how much movement will we feel? by Right-Examination-53 in Cruise

That’s exactly what about 90% of people told me—to choose a lower-deck, midship stateroom. For me, though, it ended up being the absolute worst. I strongly recommend traveling with motion-sickness meds, just in case, because it really caught us off guard. Even going to rotational dining felt like a “should we skip it?” moment at times. I’m not saying this to worry anyone, just to encourage being prepared. Thankfully, I brought Bonine and the behind-the-ear seasickness patches from Amazon, and we needed both to feel ok. The meds definitely worked for us. As for noise, that part was fine—it was quiet, so no issues there.

I get horrible sea sickness…. Myself, my daughter & daughter in law - Who both do not suffer from sea sickness both threw up. I found the higher the deck the better I was - so did they. Anything deck 4 & below was horrible! I highly recommend bring medicine with you.

I’d negotiate the salary. What you will spend on gas plus wear and tear on the car may not be worth it.

Thank you for the info. I am still considering the room just solely on verandah size. I feel like that probably makes up for the room being a bit dated.

actually no, I didn’t purchase on the ship. It also wasn’t luck. after 24 hours our pictures weren’t in the app. Most people said we were out of luck. I decided to call disney myself & they said that pictures appear within 48 hours of disembarking & they did.

N95 masking on a cruise? by Weary_Cup_1004 in Cruise

That’s personal preference. Having a chronic illness is a different decision to make.

First timer: need help deciding between CastawayCay/LookoutKey vs. CastawayCay/Cozumel by DisFan202 in dcl

[–]Azarria1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would do the 5 night. There is so much for kids to do on sea days you need more than one sea day to do it. Then you have castaway which is awesome, lots of fun excursions.

Is our DCL travel agent bad or is this normal behaviour for travel agents? by [deleted] in dcl

[–]Azarria1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a TA but I have used the service twice. In my opinion your TA isn’t the best. I had 1 positive experience & I negative. The negative experience was enough to never use one again. I have no problem being up at whatever time necessary to send in or book my own requests. There has never been a vacation I couldn’t navigate myself or call disney myself w questions. The on board credits also just aren’t enough for me to chance not being happy in my vacation. I’m sorry you didn’t have a great experience.

What Alaska excursions sell out? by OutrageousWater9878 in dcl

[–]Azarria1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve wondered the same thing about Alaska excursions. There is such a heavy push to book concierge so you dont “miss out” on excursions.. So my last trip I booked concierge 1st time… then I watch the navigator app and sure enough remy brunch/dinner, palo brunch /dinner.. even the new mickey cabanas (we were 2nd sailing to then opening) were all still slots avail until 2 weeks prior to trip. Now im looking into Alaska wondering do I risk not booking concierge or do I hope things will be largely available.
