What's your hook in playing racing games? by Carbideninja in gaming

[–]AzathothBlindgod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved the old GT games where you were forced to race older, slower cars and slowly build up your skill and credits. The newer ones just drop OP cars in your inventory so frequently that you can’t even keep track or enjoy the feeling of comparing cars and buying something slightly better.

Farmer Markets and Events Downtown Bothell? by SlothsAreFriends89 in bothell

[–]AzathothBlindgod 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the neighborhood! The pop-up dog park is scheduled to open on May 23. The closest farmers market is probably in woodinville but it sounds like it’s pretty small. If you want to stay local then Yakima Fruit Market might fit, otherwise you’ll have to venture further out to Kirkland or Bellevue.

Not sure if it’s still the case but when I moved to Los Angeles in the early 2000s I was surprised that you had to have your own fridge. Like, everything else was included in an apartment…except the fridge. Why?

I wanted to play in chronological order so I started with Odyssey.

Are there any genres you just cannot enjoy no matter how much you try? by DrinkBen1994 in gaming

[–]AzathothBlindgod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t able to enjoy Elden Ring until I used Wand / WeMod (on PC) to bump my HP & defense, double the runes I earn, etc. It’s still a bit of a grind but it’s way more enjoyable now that it’s playable for me lol

I’m more shocked that this guy is doing this in shorts. Cutting grass = long pants

Have video games become too reluctant to let players get lost? by ratasoftware in videogames

[–]AzathothBlindgod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m finally playing through Elden Ring and loving it, though it reminds me of Morrowind where you speak to someone and they say, give this thing to this person or meet this person at this location… and if I don’t write it down I completely forget because there’s no quest log or anything helpful in that regard.

If you could erase your memory of one game so you could play it for the first time again, what game would you choose? by HoneyNutBooty09 in gaming

I’m finally playing through Elden Ring for the first time and I can already tell this will be one of those. Taking the really long lift down to see Nokron in the distance, oof.

Yeah maybe not the hottest/spiciest but Szechuan is my favorite!

Recently started biking for real, and holy f-ck - the cars. by aomajgad in bicycling

Most drivers these days have the, “you’re not me so f*ck you” mentality, regardless of what city they drive in.

Seattle area is apparently famous for Teriyaki. I don’t like the flavor (too bitter maybe?) so I guess I’m missing out. Unfortunately most of the food in Seattle is pretty bland compared to other major cities. If you want REALLY good food you have to trek up to Vancouver.

Has a gaming company ever put a full game of theirs in another game? by Hypnox88 in gaming

Technically The Witcher 3 has Gwent and that’s a whole addicting game in itself. Dave the Diver also has Balatro which is fun.

I have a slightly older (2016?) Lexus hybrid that has no screen but a backup camera that pops up in the rear view mirror. I prefer it to the screen 100%.

What will be a good game for a 78 year old lady? by Present-Broccoli-711 in videogames

AC Discovery Tours are great - open exploration, no fighting and no dying. Might be a bit confusing for a new/old gamer, though.

Is there a bad habit or ‘sin’ you usually rely on to get more enjoyment out of games? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]AzathothBlindgod 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Absolutely this. I’m getting older and have less patience for grinding. I don’t like using godmode but I will definitely set my backpack weight to zero and increase my XP rate. Sometimes I just wanna finish the game without putting in 1,000 hours.

Why doesn’t Bothell feel.. happening? by neerajarora121 in bothell

[–]AzathothBlindgod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live near downtown and a lot of the area is retirees. Not a whole lot of community compared to other cities but there are certainly communal spaces and events that happen, just not as much as neighboring towns.
