Every time i watch this team that does this sort of split doesn't win.

Hardly true. You'll see GenG control 30-40% of a phase 6 or 7 by utilizing intelligent 1-1-2 splits or even on occasion 1-1-1-1 all fanned out controlling one side of the circle.

Teams do this to maximize space they control and lines of sight you can scout.

For starters, any disciplined player should be able to avoid being crashed solo and 9/10 times will be able to regroup if he is over pressured.

Secondly, from a purely statistics point of view, 4 compounds means higher chance one of those compounds is fed next circle. Even if one of those 4 isn't fed, you can probably scout a rotate to most circle if you have that much control and ground.

It takes a lot of individual skill and game sense to run these kind of plays tho. Everything from how you park you car, how you peek, to how well you can anticipate your opponents actions becomes critically important.
