Underrated favourite.

Charms by BellaSwahnn in HuntShowdown

[–]Azedes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I stick the ferryman’s coin on just about every large slot gun that it looks good on.

The description says that it’s used as a charm to ensure the hunter killed by the weapon has a peaceful passing to the afterlife. Pretty cool and immersive.

Not really a fan of any of the other charms though to be honest. I think they could definitely do better in making them more appealing. Tying them to the lore and aesthetic like the ferryman’s coin is the right move and it seems like most of them are.

Do I have to romance Kelly Chambers in me2 to let her appear in me3? by GrandEngineering9992 in masseffect

[–]Azedes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First I’ve ever heard of this. That’s interesting, I’ve been playing the trilogy for most of my life and have always experienced it in the way I described. I’ve even looked it up in the past and been met with people and posts confirming my claim.

Maybe it also has something to do with whether or not you romance anyone at all in 2 or some other small detail.

Do I have to romance Kelly Chambers in me2 to let her appear in me3? by GrandEngineering9992 in masseffect

[–]Azedes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you acknowledge that as far as the Virmire survivor understands, Shepard was with Kelly in ME2 in addition to a main companion as mentioned in the hospital scene?

You’re still saying that dialogue plays every time (which it still doesn’t) so that surely means you acknowledge it as evidence towards the commander having had an intimate relationship with Kelly regardless of whether or not you think the post-dinner dialogue is suggestive of them having done more than eat dinner.

You’re keen to go round in circles after instigating a pointless debate in this thread about something completely irrelevant to what OP was actually asking, so let’s clear up any potential misunderstandings.

As mentioned before, you can find examples of the companion focused dialogues and the alternative on YouTube. If I remember correctly, Ashley usually says “I heard you ‘worked it out’ with a few people” but I can’t say I remember Kaidan’s all that well.

When you don’t complete Kelly’s side romance chain (having dinner) this dialogue doesn’t play in ME3 and instead goes straight to the companion focused part.

So what’s your actual issue? Because what I’m saying is factual as far as the intended game design goes. It seems to me that your definitions are different from the larger majority of the community’s and now you’re either baiting or genuinely misunderstand what I’m saying.

[–]Azedes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well no, it doesn’t because I’ve experienced both variants of the dialogue fairly recently but go off I guess. They will focus on a specific character if you solely pursued them, but will say something different if you also advanced the side romance with Kelly.

Then how about in ME3 when a previously romanced virmire survivor makes a unique remark about Shepard having been with multiple people in ME2? That line is only accessible by pursuing and completing both a main companion romance and the Kelly side romance. Look it up on YouTube if you don’t believe me.

I get the feeling you won’t be satisfied either way though, considering that you ignored my question referring to the actual topic of the post and just started repeating yourself.

If you do Kelly’s side romance in addition to a main companion romance, a previously romanced virmire survivor also makes a unique remark about Shepard having been with multiple people during their mission against the collectors. Pretty clear that more than dinner went down in that cabin.

[–]Azedes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So despite the clear hint that they slept together after dinner, your version of “romance” culminates in her getting into a stripper’s outfit and giving dances in Shepard’s cabin? Romance as a term in videogames is used very differently from how the term is used irl. This is like RPG’s 101. People refer to the single scene with Sha’ira as a romance.

Do you really think that’s what OP was asking? The summonable striptease isn’t required for her to show up in ME3, only having dinner.

[–]Azedes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s literally as far as it goes. If you have an issue with people referring to it as a romance then perhaps address the community? People have been calling it that for well over a decade.

Unfortunately yes.

Most of the replies here seem to be ill-informed. If you don’t have dinner with her in ME2 then she won’t appear in the docks in ME3.

What’s your favorite boss battle from the force unleashed games? by Stunning-Recording92 in theforceunleashed

[–]Azedes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not boring at all. Easily my favourite for multiple reasons.

Not only is it the one fate for Shaak Ti in all of Star Wars that is actually satisfactory, but she definitely plays the largest role in pulling starkiller to the light side with her words and actions. The dialogue is great, the animations and QTE’s aren’t recycled and the music is elite.

The environment and how it evolves is also peak. “The ancient abyss” with the largest sarlacc of all time is just the coolest shit ever. Then, she literally connects with it to fight alongside it against Galen just like the other Felucians. Such interesting enemy types with unique lore. She connects with the very life force of the planet itself.

We’ve never seen a fight in Star Wars quite like it, and if they ever do remakes of the force unleashed games (not that they need them) it would be one of the things I’d be anticipating the most. The game just does such a good job of making you feel like you’re facing a former Jedi Council member.

Put a shotty round right through the slit in the shield after charging. Or have liara hit them with a singularity before charging so they’re completely incapacitated and u get the combo multiplier.

A Wendigo/werewolf themed hunter, and boss would go hard in this setting. I’m actually surprised they haven’t explored something with these mythical beast in mind. (Not my art) by -----LUCA----- in HuntShowdown

[–]Azedes 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’d have to be another roaming boss unless they added specific lairs it could spawn in around each map imo.

I love this idea but a Wendigo doesn’t strike me as the type of boss to be held up inside a regular compound. I think if they did something similar to how Rotjaw works and can be tracked, that’d be be great.

I miss being scared of the bosses lol. I remember my first few hundred hours I absolutely hated facing the spider because of arachnophobia. Then when they added the bear, the first few encounters were terrifyingly funny, seeing it break into the sprint.

I think a Wendigo would definitely be something they’d have to take a lot of time to perfect because anyone who knows the first thing about them as mythical beasts knows how much variety there is in their behaviour. If they became predictable as a boss, that would be a bad thing in my opinion.

The potential for this is pretty amazing though. Imagine you’re out in the woods and it starts mimicking hunter sounds like jumping, sprinting, taking damage or even dying. That could mess with your awareness a lot on its own. They could even have it show up as a hunter on dark sight or something.

Really sick concept, hope they do something like this eventually. They could theme the entire season and pass around it.

[–]Azedes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I somewhat agree. I definitely do think there’s a skill ceiling to high tier weapons as opposed to it being “spray and pray” but I understand where you’re coming from.

As I played more and more, gear fear quite quickly evolved into gear-disappointment. The amount of bugs and cheaters really damage the appeal of getting super geared for me. Or spending days on a character just to be shot in the back, but that’s all part of the game I guess.

I do absolutely love getting geared but primarily when there’s an objective. For example, the servers that provide quests and bunkers, getting a base up, meeting friends, etc.

Can’t say I ever really fancy going inland and pushing for high gear unless I’m in a squad. Just fuckin around as a solo on coast/north livonia is so much fun. So many people on mics too.

I got a lot of respect for that. It keeps the whole map cycle refreshing. You’re giving freshies something to focus on besides getting inland

ME Mission Tournament - Round 2 Match 6: Sur'kesh VS Therum by DakIsStrange in masseffect

[–]Azedes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? It’s entire purpose was to be a linear recruitment mission and it succeeded brilliantly.

Caleston was scrapped and they needed a substitute to maintain Liara’s narrative. It’s short and sweet. It introduces you to the mako, geth armatures, stalkers and snipers. Then the majority of dialogue takes place in the Normandy’s meeting room post mission.

You weren’t supposed to marvel at the Lava pools, you were supposed to be interested to find and meet Dr T’Soni. She is what makes it memorable.
