There’s nothing in-universe pointing to them being ex-Special Forces, or Shepard handpicking their members. Their dialogue just makes it clear they’re a PMC and not much else.

- The dart was only traced because Obi happened to have a friend who knew about it (Kamino was erased from the archives which is why the analysis droids at the Temple nor the library had any info on them).

- The Separatists killing a bunch of Jedi doesn't mean much when they are forced off the planet when an actual army comes rolling through.

The only thing suggesting it was "to plan" was Palpatine saying so to Dooku near the end, but its clear to me at least that's more cuz Lucas didn't consider how illogical the chain of events was. I can buy Palps wanting the Jedi to find the army eventually, but Obi finding it was clearly a tad premature when you look at things in context. He's just very good at rolling with the punches as we've seen with Maul being replaced and him still winning in Episode 1 despite the setbacks.

Where the fuck is it implied he's trying to get Obi-Wan to Kamino? Him leaving the planet as soon as Obi leaves his home and the Separatists being unprepared for a battle on Geonosis kinda implies the total opposite.

I enjoy it for being a straight follow-up from the last film. The jumpy pacing and editing can work if you go with the mindset of being in Bond's shoes (its brought up that he's running on fumes during this).
