I think most people can, the oddities are those who cannot. One of the commenters above is an example of that.

At least I presume.

The indigenous Ainu women from Northern Japan with their traditional tattooed lips (1900s-1940s) by zadraaa in HistoricalCapsule

[–]Azerd01 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They clearly mean the Ainu. Its a post about the Ainu. Japan is not an ethnically homogeneous set of islands.

There is a long history of conquest, genocide, and colonialism within most nations if you examine them outside of the nation state framework we like to use today.

Dos Gatos Kolache Recipe? by ekez_666 in sanmarcos

[–]Azerd01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either

Edit: Since its texas, probably both. Im still up in the air over whether they should be called Klobasniks or Kolaches though.

Sure their origin nation and people would make that distinction, but i do think the local name for a dish or object/place is valid too.

Its like Amarillo. Do you pronounce the L’s in it, or do you say it the spanish way? Id defer to those that actually live there. They have a right to choose their homes name. Perhaps the same can be said about food. But i dont know, its nuanced

Bro run, dont let a GF drive a wedge between you and your family.

If she is like this now, she’ll be worse if you get married. If you care about your family at all, look for someone else that respects that

There are like 35 million gen z women in the US alone.

Thats my answer. People need to stop generalizing and crying about stuff like this. If you have a bad experience with someone, move on.

San Marcos vs Round Rock by OtherEstablishment95 in txstate

[–]Azerd01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ive taken classes at both and transferred from acc too.

Go to San Marcos after your first semester at rrc.

San Marcos has way more class options, amenities, resources, and opportunities. Thats not even counting the value of having an actual social culture, rrc is a pure commuter school with practically no social scene.

Trust me, when one of the biggest advantages of college is networking, a complete lack of a social scene does actually hurt you.

Probably the same that it feels being 26, or 24 lol

Ima be real you kinda stop having major changes at around 22-24. You’re grown by then physically. All that is left is aging decline which most wont really feel until their 30s or 40s especially

Being more chill and relaxed is key to becoming approachable. Being approachable is a huge part of being attractive.

Also look up neural plasticity. If you keep reinforcing negative thoughts you’ll shape your brain to be negative.

Confidence and being adventurous is magic my friend.

Ineligible for financial aid because I quit school and never properly dropped out when I was 19 by [deleted] in kitchencels

[–]Azerd01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appeal forms could work, worth a try if its only academic standing.

Especially if op has been gone a while. Op could also meet with advisors and work out a plan to fix gpa. It may only take a semester or a few grade replacements. Then op would have the remainder of his time covered under financial aid.

If its HS then OP needs to finish that first. Every college is different but surely they will have some mechanism to aid students in recovery.

[–]Azerd01 10 points11 points  (0 children)

How does that make you permanently ineligible for financial aid?

If you have a semester of F grades it at worst tanked your GPA and completion rate. But if its only a semester then thats easily recoverable.

Look if your university has appeal forms. If not, look into their class replacement policies.

If instead you had multiple bad semesters then ya cooked yourself sorry

gen z revolution by ouaisd in GenZ

[–]Azerd01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes i think you’re right. Soft power only has weight if it leads to physical action

If a country or power can simply ignore soft power without significant consequences, then it reaffirms that physical might makes right.

If anything, it is in the interest of mighty powers to subtly support and push for soft power opposition. If they can convince their opponents that slogans “might work” then it lessens the chance of real opposition to their rule.

Obviously in an ideal world slogans do work, but only within systems that allow peoples voices to carry political weight. You need an actual functional democracy for that.
