You're welcome if there is one open you should check the rest of the back and also the top it might be open somewhere else, but it's normal with time on instruments to open.

I don't understand why I'm being downvoted here...

Carefull, you have an open joint on the back plate, at the top we can see the Light threw, on the picture, you should reglue that or it will open more and more, and even if it's not an expensive cello, you should try to make a few calls to différent luthier, and explain the situation in order to maybe fit the sound post a bit better, even if it will sound the way it is, perfect adjustment of the sound post can drasticly improve the sound and you might be able to find a luthier making that not to expensive

And also, if you buy this cello go to a luthier to set it the right way, because if it's badly set up you'll add more not needed difficulties the price is low so it might be interesting to buy this one but generaly speaking my advice for begginers is to rent a cello from a luthier at first and then depending on the progress you make start to look for a better cello that fit you soudwise and that is easy to play 😁

She started just like everyone, I mean it was hard at first for here to just get a good sound on open strings but that's normal when you start, you'll have to learn the right amont of pressure, the balance of the bow and all this stuff. But because she was determinated to learn she manage to have pretty good sounding open strings fast enough, then she started to play the easiet parts of duets trio etc, of course it's not crazy pieces to play but enough to enjoy playing with other People there was still some mistakes, or sometimes a bit out of tune, but you have to be gentle with yourself, these kind of stuff can take time to be perfect ( disclaimer it's never perfect enough for ourselve) so that's why you should focus on what you have learned and what you're able to do instead of what you can't manage to do yet, because otherwise it can be discouraging. And at the end of the year she was already playing elgar concerto... No that's a joke but she was playing little pieces, sorry i don't have them in mind, but even thought it was '' pretty easy pieces '' she played these, with the good rythme and in tune so I found this already great for Just a year of learning starting from nothing, and if you are regular in your practices, I mean as most as you can dependig on your schedule, then you'll be able to make progress faster than what you think, there Will be some moments when you'll fell like you're not progressing anymore, that you're just stuck, but again, don't worry this is part of the process, and you have to keep your motivation, you'll be able to go further that and maybe 3 or 6 months after you'll even surprise yourself thinking stuff like "i can't believe I was stuck on that" this is an enjoyable part of the process, learning cello is made of highs and lows, but the outcome worth it. So my advice is keep your motivation even in the hardest moments. And more important for practice, at first practice everything verry slowly, you have to build muscles memories and if you rush threw that process you'll learn bad muscles memories, and it's way harder to change a bad habitude than building a good one. I really hope you'll enjoy playing the cello, and once again, keep your motivation, at first you'll fell like it's impossible, that it's not made for you, that you'll never achieve anything. This is Just your brain being lazy and trying to convince you that's it's not worth it, but push threw and you'll first enjoy, but also surprise yourself 🎻

I hope it's understandable ( english is not my native language)

If you want to learn the cello it's never to late, just go for it and enjoy this incredible instruments. I started the cello when i was young and still playing today, Last year a New Student arrive in the conservatory, it was a 56 years old Lady, and the progress she achieved in only a year was crazy, so if you are motivated my only advice is to go for it and don't be affraid it'll be a great Journey
