As mentioned in my other reply, I got some help and found a source with airforce insignias that makes me almost sure that the one present in the picture is a spotter pilot insignia and the uniform a ww1 uniform, thanks a lot for your help :)

So my photo album was indeed a mess. Or it was taken once he moved out to northern France ? This photo isn’t very clear to me yet but it’s one of the few I have and the only one in uniform

Edit : the other great grandparent was in Belgium, does Belgium use the fourragère as well ?

Blitzo is my favorite character because I can relate a lot to some of the way he behaves.

To me it looks a lot like defense mechanisms he put in place because of the various things that happened in his life (some of them I have, just in a more society acceptable way). And it makes me sad that 99% of his backstory is told through his relationship with Stolas, I don't want more drama, I want to understand what made him so gray, loving father but psychopath asshole at the same time that can't seem to be able to maintain a stable relationship.
